I know that there used to be a few threads for locals here but they seem to have vanished. I used THIS (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69985&highlight=connecticut) thread as a reference and all of the links in it seem to be bad.

So who's from Connecticut and what do you collect? Sometimes its nice to trade locally rather than try to sell on eBay.

I live in Southeast Connecticut in the Groton area. I collect pretty much anything but I really enjoy old RPG and adventure games for the Apple II and other classic computers.

I live in Norwalk. Not many finds, at all, around these parts. What is it like around Groton?

I live in the Norwich area. Not much into collecting for classic computers-- although I do own a Mattel Aquarius and TI-99/4A.

Same as you, I collect anything, but my main focus is consoles from the NES up to the Dreamcast, especially the obscure systems from the 16 and 32-bit eras (Jaguar, 3DO, CD-i, Virtual Boy, etc.; and Saturn, though that was slightly more mainstream).

I used to live in Bridgeport and there were a LOT more options than there are here in Groton. There was a circle of at least a dozen or so thrift stores that I'd regularly run between Bridgeport and Norwalk.

The funny thing is that while there are much less options here in the Groton area, I've had a lot larger (huge bundles) finds here than I did in Bridgeport while I found a smaller amount of things more often there.

does anyone in the Connecticut area have an interest in a few cartons full of 5 or so year old game magazines? There's a variety of different magazines from PC Gamer, Gaming Republic, EGM, and more. There's also a bunch of duplicates of some magazines. I have around 2-3 cartons of them and I just don't have the room for them. I'd try to sell them but shipping makes that almost impossible. I'd gladly give them away for free if anyone here wants them. The only catch is that we'd have to meet up for me to give them to you because they weigh too much to ship. I live in SE connecticut in the Groton / New London area.

Edit: I'd also be willing to meet up with anyone who lives in the Rhode Island area since

I also live in Norwich. I collect pretty much anything too. There's not many places to get good finds...mostly yard sales, flea markets, or estate auctions is where it's at...although I did get a pretty decent Sega Nomad for $8 at Goodwill last year!

Hey Griking, I might be interested but not too sure. I do collect older magazines but only from like 1997 and earlier (the older the better). Anything newer and I wouldn't be too interested. Let me know.

That's cool that you live in Norwich too. I live over in the Taftville area myself. Send me a message if you ever have some good stuff you're looking to sell off (like that Nomad)!

I had no idea the competition in the area was so stiff. Must be why I can't find anything around here. I live in New London. Mostly I look for older unique "stuff" (as in, anything I don't have yet). I did pick up a Sega CD Backup RAM cart at the Goodwill about a month ago for $4. That was a good score, but pretty much finding anything else around here is tough.
