Unless I was using the wrong search terms up in here, I didn't find any reviews for the FC Twin which is supposed to play both NES and Super NES games. Anyone have one? I've found a very small number of reviews online, other than random message board threads. I'm asking because 2 of my nearby game shops are selling this thing for around $50-60 and the clerks are persistent in trying to get me into buying one. Just like they probably are with every other person who comes in.

I'm sure it is more desirable than the average Famiclone because it plays both NES and Super NES games. My question is how well. What little I have read on this thing is that the NES emulation is supposedly "better" than some of the other clone systems that have come before it. Does that mean it plays some of the games that the other systems can't play properly or are Castlevania III (and Commando) gamers still out in the cold?

I've already acquired a Generation NEX, so I probably won't buy another clone system right away but I'm curious to hear about the FC Twin for future reference. Seeing that I never found a specific thread, unless I missed it when searching, maybe some other people could use some feedback on the FC Twin.

What are your thoughts on the Gen Nex? for famicom games mainly. Is It worth it or is it better off going with an adaptor. I was always curiouse about this.

i have one , i got it like a month ago . i like it you can use any snes controllers on it . so if you have them new messiah wireless controllers , you have a good combination . the system itself is compact , and it comes in two colors black & white . also it sometimes takes a couple of tries to play the games , probally the games not the system . i give it a 8/10 for a nes clone .

I bought a fc twin off ebay for about 50 bucks, works good with nes, snes it seems when you press buttons the video acts like it gets lines in background, not a big deal though, otherwise I use it so i dont have to take up space with a nes & snes system.I can use just one system. Its a great buy if you want to save space.

Don't know. Sorry. I have little interest in Famicon games or imports in general. From what I understand though, it seems to work all right for Famicon games but I don't think you can use many of the actual Famicon accessories. You may want to ask someone else on here.

My store sells them, and theirs a pretty good return rate on them (sold about 30 and only 1 return) which is a better ratio then the NEX, incidentally.

i personally put it thorough the paces when we first got it. SNES functionality is pretty spot on (runs the test cart perfectly), while it retains the NES-on-a-chip color issues for the NES side of things.

my primary gripe: hongkong cheap plastic through and through. one clean drop and the things done.

like i tell my customers (who are usually only truly interested in playing NES games), if you want a quality console thats a true conversation piece, go NEX.

So I'm curious. Is it just another machine that fails to play the Castlevania 3's of the world or does it actually get the job done?

Just a thought...it would be nice if ya put "Pirate" before the FC Twin. I keep thinking this is about the Sharp unit which I can provide some feedback on. Oh well.

Not familiar with the Sharp unit but since it was my thread originally, I did take the "Pirate" comment into consideration (see new title).

I sell them in my store as well. It's great for people who just want to play casual stuff like Mario, etc. The look & controllers are different enough that the original console is always the better choice. So far, only 2 games have had issues... SNES Mario RPG wouldn't run at all (did in an SNES) and NES Gauntlet ran but had weird glitches (walking through walls, etc.). Overall it's ok.

Same here. I've sold tons of them, I've only heard of two games that didn't work. NES Gauntlet was one of them. Castlevania 3 was the other. Very good feedback and repeat business from customers. I didn't know about Mario RPG so thanks for the info.

I just got mine in the mail today. Haven't tried it out yet, though. I mostly picked it up to test NES/SNES carts that I pick up at fleas/yard sales/Goodwill. Once I play around with it some, I'll post my opinions.
