Miyamoto just finished up his GDC keynote and has confirmed Mario Galaxy will launch this year. Strangely enough, there weren't any other titles shown or spoken about--including Metroid Prime 3. Overall, a very boring keynote. However, he did confirm he is working on a new Wii Channel that will let you vote on other people's Miis. Kinda like the "Everyone Votes" channel I guess. I'll call it "Mii Vote Time Now Guess How Szechuan Noodle Channel."

THAT'S their big fucking announcement? Sheesh. Weak.
Like I really give a shit about voting on other people's Miis. Reminds me of the HOT OR NOT sites, heh heh. Oooooh, those pixels baby, yeah! Oh, turn around one more time! Your round polygonal ass makes me hot!

Actually they weren't legally allowed to discuss anything that hasn't been previously announced do to a big stock transaction getting ready to happen. The Japanese government is getting ready to sell all of their Nintendo stock and any kind of huge announcement that could affect their stock price either way is a big no no.
So yeah, it's pretty disappointing for the fans.

Probably it was meant...that discussing anything new that could actually effect the stock prices would be a no-no. I don't see a channel voting on other people's Miis having much effect on the overall stock for Nintendo right now.
Now if they had said that a new channel was coming out that would allow you to listen to all you MP3s and play movies from the SD card easier or some new demo downloads channel...that might have affected something.
Maybe it is just me, but I would be interested to see channels like that instead of voting whether I think the Mii named "$2 Whore" rocks or needs to be deleted forever...

Just Mario? Lame news.
BTW, I've heard a few rumors that Miyamoto might be leaving Nintendo to start his own company (Possible Zelda 360? No more crappy Mario games? Samus becoming Nintendo's mascot? Who knows...If it's true, that is)

And besides, if he did leave he wouldn't be taking those IPs with him. He may have created them but Nintendo as a company owns them.

I heard it from my sister, who heard it from someone while she was at work (Gamestop), so it should be taken with a grain of salt. But you never know...
EDIT: Did a Google search to see if there was any into, but got nothing. It's more then likely BS. But there is still a possibility (No one expected Yuji Naka to leave Sonic Team)

Well.. everything IS possible ;) but i seriously doubt that it will ever happend. Miyamoto have been working so long and done so much for Nintendo, its his life.
