I'm sure most people interested have already seen it. Looks awesome as an awesome.

I wonder if the two big planets in the background are explorable.

I really don't like the look of the game, maybe its because I don't have a Wii yet but I just can't see it being that much fun. It looks like it would be very easy to lose control of Mario and it seems like you could get lost without too much trouble.

I think it's beautiful. I didn't see any pixelation. But I wasn't looking for that.

And about getting lost. They probably have a way of sectioning off certain areas or having the small planets arranged in a good way (like a line or curved line) so you can't get lost. Or maybe we will be able to remember the planets we have been to when we try to go to the next one.

I really can't see how playing this with a Wiimote is going to be better than using a pad.

eh the worlds look kinda neat, but this is just another gimmicky Mario like sunshine was. It's another run around and collect stars in some type of 3D world mario games. I'm sure I'll play, it's be semi-fun, it but it won't be great.

Just looks awesome. I have no idea how they're going to get it to play smoothly, but from what it looks like if that's a real player going at it then its controls are simplified to some learning curve. There's a friend of mine that has a Wii and I'm sure he'll be grabbing it so I'll try it out at his place whenever it comes in.

It looks pretty good visualy, but to me it doesnt look that fun. The planets look pretty small so theres no much room to run around on and there is so much jumping from places to places.

Not bad....not bad at all.

Why do I have the feeling that this game is going to suck JUST because of the Wii-Remote control scheme? Too early to tell I guess.

Do they absolutely have to use the Wii Remote in every game? It's just something new. I don't think something new necessarily has to be better.

How did you figure that out, have you played the full version?

So, what is Nintendo supposed to do? They make something new for Mario (Mario Sunshine), people don't like it. They make something new for Zelda (Wind Waker), people don't like it. They keep the traditions of Zelda (Twilight Princess), add more, and people don't like it.

Wherever you see the word "people", you can replace that with pefectionists if you want.

Well, that's Mario.

I wish people would wait for stuff and try all of what's included for themselves, while being open minded the whole time instead of saying crap like "Holy shit, that looks like shit." or "I absolutely know for sure that it's going to be good".

No, im not talking about jumping in generaly. Here im talking about jumping from planet to planet, like you dont stay at one place for a long time. Of course i know there is alot of jumping in a Mario game, afterall it is a Jump N' Run game hehe :P

Ah. I guess we'll just have to wait and try it for ourselves to know if jumping from planet to planet is fun. Running around on the small planets in Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando was a lot of fun, and jumping from the booster pad to higher places was fun so hopefully Nintendo did as good of a job as Insomniac.

I thought someone would say something about that. Your post is another example of something I've been saying. Think deep into your posts before you post them.

"Looks awesome as an awesome"

"I absolutely know for sure it's going to be good"

Ok, look at the first word in the first quote...."Looks". Now look at the second, third, fifth, sixth, and seventh word in the second quote. In my paragraph that included the second quote I was talking about people stating things as fact before they have even tried it. In my first quote I was saying that it "looks" to be turning out fun, meaning hopefully it will be.

Come on man, you sound like an 8 yr. old.

Well, whether or not you can believe it, I can't help it.

How does it make you feel to make posts like that?

I'm still wondering what kind of 17 yr. old still goes to stores with his mom?

And that.

Just don't post anymore in this topic please so it will go to the next page. I have had a good streak going lately with my topics but now it's starting to turn bad again. I guess it's mainly my fault because I reply to a lot of people's comments.

I'll just keep posting my trading topics.

That's pretty much what I got out of it. I hope we're wrong, because I'd like to have a good Mario game on a console (I haven't liked a 3D Mario yet), but if I'm to use the trailer as the sole basis of my opinion. I'm not sold.

Kind of looks like a lot of small, set-piece puzzles/challenges, rather than a traditional platformer... which makes sense, I guess. It fits into the whole Wii philosphy of game design.

Can't say I'm not curious, at least!

It's like if Treasure made good 3D action games! Stream of set-piece design will generally result in an interesting game. And of course it's EAD, so it'll play rock solid -- it's the design that really matters here, and that looks to be shaping up nicely.

I'm definitely interested in this. :D

looks weird as hell to me. Not sure what the heck I think of it. I'll reserve judgement for when I get to play it...but I'm not drooling over it yet.

It looks sorta like Super Smash Bros. Melee as a 3D adventure game if that makes any sense.

Looks like something M.C. Escher would have designed. I guess I'm getting old, but jumping from planet to planet with an ever changing horizon has the potential for massive headache.

I thought it looked great. I felt like I was watching a cartoon with awesome animation. The graphics looked nice. This game is gonna be a huge seller for nintendo that much I can almost guarantee.

Look's like Mario Sunsine to me..I'll bet you can't use the Classic or even the Gamecube Controller with it....In a year people going to think the Wiimote is a gimmick

Looks great! Heh, so was there a law of physics left unbroken in that vid? Heheh, but this and Super Paper Mario are a definite buy for me.

It reminds me a little too much of the awkward flying segments of Sm64, actually.

This is why long-running franchise games are generally a bad idea. Nobody is ever satisfied. At least, from the hardcore gamer point-of-view.

Miyamoto tries some new ideas and goes off in weird directions with Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Sunshine and Zelda Wind Waker. Everybody whines and complains. Nintendo brings Mario back to his roots with New Super Mario Bros. Everybody complains.

No matter what you get, you'll complain. You'll never be happy, because nothing can ever match the possibility of your imagination. File this under: movie sequels, rock-star reunions, athlete comebacks, etc.

Hey, kids, at the very least, Miyamoto and company are giving you something new. Brand-spanking new. It looks like they want to reinvent games again, and get us to think in new ways. Nothing wrong with that. Usually if you want a trip this colorful and crazy, you have to drop a couple tabs. :P

Of course, just watch me. I'll be the first one to complain if I don't like Mario Galaxy. Too short, too long, too familiar, too strange, too easy, too hard. Yadda yadda. But, seriously, I'm looking forward to this one. It's time to see what they can really do with this console of theirs.

Well, if there was any new shining ray of hope that Mario Galaxy would be a major breakthrough for the series, I think I've seen it.

There are pirate ships from Mario 3 (and a lot of them) shown in the new issue of Game Informer. They have also confirmed there are many VERY large self-containted planets that allow for very traditional platforming, including underwater levels.

For some reason, this game was reminding of Mario 3 in many ways even before I saw this. Mario 2 (just like Sunshine) was a step away from the traditional roots to try new things. Some really liked it, some didn't. What followed Mario 2? The biggest, best Mario title EVER.

Bring on Galaxy. :rocker:

I look forward to playing it for the final verdict. I know that there are alot of skeptics of the Wii, but I am a believer. In one year, we are getting a Zelda, 2D Mario, and a 3D Mario. This is going to be a good year for the Wii.

No... This game looks nothing like Super Mario Bros 3 and probably won't be anything like it in the end.

Eh. Probably not. But looking at the new shots in Game Informer keeps hope alive my friend.
