They may be the underdog in console sales, but damn.

I just sold off my Xbox360 to buy Resistance: Fall of Man and Motorstorm and they both kick ass.

Resistance mainly for it's overall scope, but mainly the 40 player online and how good it runs, and Motorstorm I freakin love Motorstorm! The motion sensitivity is the best, lol!

If this is the first generation come hell or high water I don't care if they fail cause i'm having a blast!

If you find those game fun that's great but I can't find a reason to plunk down $499 for a PS3 at this point in time.

Maybe a year or two from now when the library is better and the price is down to $399 or so.

You may wanna re-buy a 360 though....I don't think the PS3 is gonna be where you're playing most of the time once the initial "wow" factor wears off.

Why is that? Lol.

I'm actually enjoying the PS3 quite a bit, but I'm not sure selling your 360 was the best move. The 360 still is the better system atm. There are just so many great games on the 360, and so many coming, and then there is Xbox Live, etc, etc. Sony has a long ways to go to catch up to where 360 is right now. The initial excitement of playing Resistance and Motorstorm can be alluring. I can totally understand that. I think both of those games are awesome too. Also, I highly recommend renting VF5. I'm renting it right now, and it's a blast. Probably not a purchase for me, cause I'd grow very tired playing against the computer.

The biggest problem you're going to have with the PS3, is waiting for the compelling games to arrive. Waiting for a controller with rumble to finally come out, and waiting for the multiplatform versions to actually be equal or better than their 360 counterparts. A whole lotta waiting. That's why I wouldn't have dumped my 360. I'm sure you must have also taken somewhat of a loss selling your 360 used, so that had to hurt too. I guess on the bright side is if you have a huge HDTV, you can enjoy the Blu Ray movies on the PS3. I'm definitely enjoying it's abilities as a Blu Ray player. If you don't have a huge HDTV, then man, alot of the benefit of the PS3 goes right down the drain.

Yeah well I wanted to dump the Xbox360 before prices start dropping cause I see the Ps3 gaining steam, so I figured now was the time.

I got enough money from selling my 360 and the games I had to trade out even for a Ps3 60gb.

I figured now was the time to sell and cut losses. It's a fast market ya know, gotta buy and sell bro.

I'm very glad I did it i'm enjoying the Ps3 much better, i'll just pick up a 360 down the road since they should be dropping price soon.

Don't know though cause Motorstorm trumps anything i've played otherwise, and 40 player online in Resistance: Fall of Man without lag is just mad sick.

I'm like you I just want to have fun, but I know when to cut my losses. Nothing on Xbox360 was interesting me anymore, actually I never kept the 360 on 24/7 3 days straight like I have the Ps3, lol.

Good for you, man!! I don't have a PS3 but I've been considering picking up a 360. I think it's awesome that you've been able to look past all the negative hype and experience the system for yourself and enjoy the best that the PS3 has to offer. I highfive you for that. I really think that's awesome. Talk about experiencing something for yourself and making a post based on personal experience!! I don't think anybody could ask anything more from a poster. If there were more people like you out there then I doubt the PS3 would have the rep that it does. You just made my "reputable" list.

Well I wouldn't post unless I truly felt the way I do.

My friend has a Wii and the bowling on there with wii sports is really fun. Not really enough to make me want that system, but with mii's and Mario Galaxy coming out it's definetely looking like the second contender.

Dunno though I think I may be becoming a Ps3 fanboy a bit at my age, lol. After where i've been and what i've played I look back down that road and see that Playstation is where most of my enjoyment has been the past 10 + years.

Kinda funny it took them being the underdog to truly make me appreciate them.

When the chips are down Sony can really walk that line and balance the line between innovation and casual gameplay. At least that's the way this gamer feels and sees it.

They obviously have mad respect in the gaming industry and for good reason, you can just chalk me up +1.

Sorry you sold your 360. You are gonna miss a lot of exclusives in 2007.

Nice choices. I'm extremly happy with my PS3 thus far but, I think it's still a we bit early to sell the 360.

You know what, you probably did make the right decision for yourself. The 360 is going to have a big pricedrop soon. I fully expect a $100 price drop in the next 8 months. So, if you are going to sell a 360, you definitely want to sell it before the price drop. Also, you can always pick up a 360 later on down the line. There will be a few months there, where you are going to wonder if you made the right decision, cause alot of hotness will be hitting the 360 in the Summer, and you'll be waiting for the big PS3 guns coming in the fall. But if enough key games here and there come out, you'll be fine. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

I own a PS3 as well. I agree that it indeed is an excellent system, but the wait for more quality games (and a quality price drop from the $60 each) and the wait for a more robust online experience is tough. I actually just purchased a 360 to fill the void. And oh what a void it fills.

I really do hope that the PS3 is successful. I want to see tons of great games as well as see Sony create a equal or better online experience. For now however, most (if not all) of my game time is being devoted to the 360.

Congrats on your purchase. Bottom line is whatever makes you happy is where you should be :)

Well I'm glad your enjoying your PS3, some one has too.

I enjoy looking at it on my shelf while I play my 360.

I was originally on the fence about buying the PS3 as well. But then I realized I'd buy it and then have to wait to play all of the games that I want to on it. I don't have an HDTV that's always accessible so blu-ray is not a factor and there's just too much good stuff to play right now on the 360. At the moment, the 360 fills both mine and my fiancee's gaming appetite. Each to his own, I say.

I agree.

I'm glad you're happy with your decision. How have you been? Ain't seen you round these parts in a while.

I'm not so sure about a price drop on the 360 coming anytime soon. Reason is, it seems to be selling fine at it's current price. Also, at it's current price, MS is making a profit on it.

I think MS just doesn't care what "place" they're in, in terms of the console war. They're here to make money, not out sell Sony or Nintendo. So if the console is selling, it'll likely stay the same price.

Also, not to undermine you or anything. But I don't think you should be a Sony fanboy, but a fan of the companies who make the many games that made the PS2 great. :)

I am tired of fresh water fish, have you guys seen the amazing colors of saltwater fish. The salt water tanks are so much more vibrant than the freshwater. This is where I think the hobby should be. I think I am going to buy a Bio-Cube and go to saltwater.

It's good that you enjoy your purchase. I personally never sell a system once I get it because I have the mentality that I have to be able to play all the exclusives.

Post again in like three months and tell us if you're still happy with your decision, or if the bloom is off the rose as you grow tired of Motorstorm and Resistance during the wait for new exclusives.

I always kind of enjoy the underdog console, too (Saturn, etc). It's obviously too early to say how well or poorly the ps3 will sell, and I'm not sure I would even call it an underdog. Regardless, I'm definitely tempted to get one. $500/$600 is just too much, though. I can't even justify $400 for a 360 at the moment. Congrats on your purchase, glad you're enjoying it.
