Are there any 2 player gun games for the NES? I do not mean taking turns in Duck Hunt, but a game that requires 2 Zappers, like Gangster Town on the SMS? If so, what are they/it called?

Thank You!

Educate this former SEGA fanboy who missed out on this NES thing! :-D

There no 2 players game with the zapper, they are all 1 player.

Well that settles it then. My spare Zapper goes with my Ebay bound refurbed NES set and some dupes. I have 2 Light Phasers just so I can do some 2 player simultaneous Gangster Town.

It's kinda too bad. I wonder if it was a tech limitation, or something no developers ever bothered with. I guess I'll chalk it up to yet another superior feature of the SMS vs. the NES, that in the end, meant squat.

Can you tell I'm still bitter about being the only guy for 20 square miles with an SMS in 1986? I have vivid memories of being in a game rental place faced with 6 SMS titles to choose from, versus 200 NES titles on three walls. >:( LOL

It has to be the hardware limitation that prevents 2 zappers from working together. Other consoles like SMS only takes one screen and the light gun takes the time to calculate the position of the white beam on the screen. NES is slow and not built for pixel by pixel accuracy and flashes a target at a time so a game could take a few screens for the Zapper to islate the target or miss. With 2 Zappers, there would be conflict with the timing if both were used at the same time.

The closes 2 player game would be Gotcha. One player control Zapper to pick out enemies while other player runs in and grab the enemy's flag.
