I'll be in Vegas for a day this Thursday, and I was wondering if anyone could suggest an arcade or two to hit up. I know that most casinos have an arcade in them, but I'm not going to have much time, so I'd like a few suggestions on which in particular are the best. I know that there's also a Gameworks in Vegas; is that worth going to?

I live in Vegas and the best arcades are the Pinball Museum (Tropicana and Pecos; Tropicana intersects with the strip just go East to Pecos), and New York New York. I believe the Pinball Museum is the biggest public pinball arcade in the world with well over 100 pinballs machines available. They have a few classic arcade games in there too. New York New York has the best modern arcade in town and has a few re-made retro games including an Ultracade and a Dragon's Lair. They have a lot of redemption/ticket games too. Besides the main arcade, there's an ESPN Zone arcade in New York New York which has a lot of sports themed games. New York New York has more games and better selection than Game Works.

There are several casinos with decent arcades (MGM, Circus Circus, etc...), but those two are the best.

Last time I was in Vegas I stayed at NYNY and I can second that one. We had to walk through the arcade to get from our room to the parking garage so I got to see it several times. Like ARCZero said, lots of newer games and lots of "new" old classics.

Gameworks was right across the street by the M&M store. Unfortunately we hit the strip a bit too early and they weren't open yet, so I didn't get to check it out.

It's been almost 7 years since I've been there, but NY,NY had an amazing arcade when I stayed there. Just a bunch of crazy stuff that I've never seen before, like a VR Pac-Man game and sit-down Gallop Racer. Plus they also every modern Sega arcade game at the time including a huge Daytona set-up.

NY,NY was also the first time I saw Virtua Tennis. This was months before it came out on Dreamcast too. Remember playing that the most when I was there and kept saying to my brother that it better come out on the DC. :-P
