How do you save games in NesterDC 7????

I know this sounds stupid, but I swear I've tried EVERYTHING to save games in nesterDC 7 (and in 6 and 5) but nothing will work. Can someone please tell me how its done? It looks like I've got the save files in my VMU, but I just don't know how to load them. Do I start the game and then load the file or do I load the file at the main menu? The only luck I've had was n Zelda II, where I can get my characters name loaded but not the stats. I'd really like to do the solid state save so I can re-start the game from exactly where I left off, but that won't work for me either. Anyone? x_x

It sounds like you already know how to access the menus. But..

R+B = quick save state menu (I use this the most while playing the game)

R+Y = Save to VMU menu. Use for saving a state to VMU so you can continue it another day.

And, you start the game first.. then you access the menu.

You know one of the problems I've had w/ NesterDC (and many other DC emus), is I often have to load up the disc... then when it gets to the 'detect controller' screen, I have to TAKE OUT my memory card, and put it back in. Sometimes once or twice.. before it recognizes it's there. THEN I'll be able to save to it. And it's not just my DC, but every DC I've tried and w/ every memory card.. go figure.
