I live in Australia and recently bought a "new" Sega SC3000 YENO machine. Its actually from France the power supply has been changed to the Austrlia John Sands SC3000 power supply. The unit did not come with any video cable, i was told by the seller that I need an AV SCART cable. I looked this up on wikipedia and apparently its a common method of transferring video/audio in Europe but is rare elsewhere. Ive never seen or heard of it here in Australia, no TV or monitor in my house appears to have these SCART slots. Anyone know what I should do?

If you don't have a SCART connector, the easiest way would be to buy a SMS/MD1 A/V cable like this (http://cgi.ebay.com/BRAND-NEW-AV-AUDIO-VIDEO-CABLE-FOR-SEGA-MASTER-SYSTEM_W0QQitemZ110102698294QQcategoryZ3642QQssPag eNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) which should be compatible with SC3000.

The only problem could be that France uses SECAM video standard and Australia has PAL and these two aren't compatible. This could be a problem if something was changed in the SC3000 hardware to make it output SECAM. Anybody here know better?

I think you're right, they aren't compatible. I managed to find a device in my house that had a input for SCART (it was a foxtel box) and all I got was a grey screen. Although I could hear beeps when I pressed keys. I doubt the hardware was changed though I'm pretty sure this one is a French model (it says it on the base). So there is no way to convert SECAM video to a PAL TV?
