Hey, anyone... I just need a PSU for my consolization project. I was wondering if 5V 2A/ 12V 2A was good enough for a single slot NEO GEO board. I found a psu on ebay :http://cgi.ebay.com/FOR-HARD-DISK-DRIVE-12V-5V-AC-Adapter-Power-Supply_W0QQitemZ150103152908QQcategoryZ64471QQrdZ1 QQcmdZViewItem

that is designed for ide hard drive's is 2A enough for this board on the 5V rail? I am unable to find an Ault sw300 in working condition for less than $50.00. I'm broke.

This is the only thing holding me up. I have everything else ready to go except the PSU and maybe the plexiglass case I plan on making.

Thank you to any and all who offer advise.:drinking:

I would not consider using that supply. To an extent, you get what you pay for, and in this case you're getting something that's only good for very light duty, occasional use.

If you need to save money, maybe look into using an AT-style power supply.
