Three? What kind of telly are you using them on?

I have one that works great so I know its not the telivision that is the problem. The ones that don't work do respond but they just won't shoot if you know what I mean. They will start the game and the screen flashes when you press the trigger but no "bullet" comes out.

I too have wondered if it is possible to fix a Light Phaser. Maybe I should just take it apart and have a look. They are notoriously delicate.

I have a broken one as well that I'd like to fix if possible. One thing I noticed about mine when I opened it was that the weights inside had corroded. Just to note I bought it at a garage sale. I wonder if that corrosion could have affected some of the other components. Second picture isn't that good.

You might want to run a continuity check on the cable first as they have a tendancy to die fairly easily.

Most likely the wires have gone. Cut the wire off about an inch from the handle, then open the light phaser. Strip the ends of the long wire you cut off, and solder them on to the connections inside the Light Phaser where the matching wire ends are. Discard the short piece of wire leading from the board and switch to the gun handle.
Reassemble and you're golden.
My first post, BTW. I chew through hardware repairs like nobody's business, though.
