Found this at a thrift store around the corner from me in a bin full of remotes and controls... I'm not really sure what it's for, my first guess is PC Gameboy reader, but the pin connector looks a little different... Also in the bin there was a N64 GB player for $2.99 and a few N64 accesories.

For starters I believe it plugs into the back of an original playstation. Is there any kind of name on it or anything?

Looks like a gameshark for a Playstation, the original playstation. They plugged into the back. Hope this helps!

It's a type of Action Replay that plugged into the parallel port on the back of an older (-750x or earlier) PlayStation. It should enable imports and burnt games, as well...which would imply that there was likely a spring that came with it originally. Its value is relatively small, around $5. Still, though, if you have an old PlayStation, and wanted to play a few imports, you have the piece necessary. Usefulness exceeds the value, in this case.

I don't see any name whatsover, maybe its an external modchip for PS?
*edit* I opened the case and on the board it says "PS Game Hunter 2M / V.5E" I did a search on google and it is a modchip....

I've got one of those myself. to use it you put in a real game and boot the system. it will spin for about 2 seconds and then stop. then you open the lid (this came with a spring) and put in your backup. you can also view in game movies and use codes through this as well. not bad.
