From what i've read there hasn't been a new PS1 game released in a while now. but are they still reprinting existing games? I just came across sealed copies (Greatest Hits versions) of Final Fantasy VIII and IX today and was wondering of these are in demand or not.

Only games I've seen still sealed that come into my store are..Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy Origins, Final Fantasy Chronicles, Chrono Cross, and Final Fantasy Anthology (each is the greatest hits edition).

I keep wondering how many more are out there

Oh well, I suppose that clinches it then. Its nice to own a nice new copy of these games though even if they weren't a special find.

Where have you been finding these? If it is a chain, would it be another location supplying the store in your area? You know, the old "shuffle unsold stock to another store in another state and see how it does" trick.

There is an FYE store near me that still has sealed PS1 games but nothing that "good." In fact, they took it upon themselves to combine some of them into three-packs for one low price and I know for a fact that this FYE store did it themselves. The packaging gives it away but the way they do it isn't too far removed from the Walmart 3-packs of cheap PS2 games. Most of the games are lousy and they are really high priced so you can safely assume it is just unsold stock and not a reprint of those ones.

I suppose reprinting Playstation games for a long time to come could also be Sony's way (or somebody's way) of doing business, if that is what they are indeed doing. It would work as long as enough stores are willing to give old PS1 games a little shelf space. So if 5 years from now, someone wants a brand new copy of a old, but popular, game then they can get it.

These titles are the ones that seem to be abundant at the stores like EB in my area.

If there are any US psx game in print they are probably some re releases of FF GH games, there has been quite a few reprints of these over the years, like the squaresoft silver gh versions and the se white gh versions, no not reprints of the black white disks they are just are generic with se and the ff name on the disk.

Xenogears was probably one of the last SE GH reprints, actually that came out rather late considering when Xenogears came out originaly vs the time it took to hit GH, which was around the end of 2002 or 2003 I think ?

However any psx GH or original sealed games you find I am willing to bet this is just old stock, or stock the ebay sellers have not found or bought up yet to mark on on there.

Copies of FFVII GH are now fetching decent coin on ebay, that is till sony and se make some new psp portable versions with.....extra character vaan from ff12 or some crap.

Japan is still re releasing psx titles, mainly SE and Capcom.

Nothing is in print anymore. Everything went the way of the dinosaur in mid 2005 (if not earlier). Anything that your seeing floating around is old stock thats either getting consolidated from other stores from that chain, or is straggling stock thats come out of those chain's warehouses.

What N64 games? Probably Tony Hawk 3. That was the one that lingered at some Walmarts across the country for at least a couple of years after its release. Decent port, considering it was on a console from a previous generation. I'd buy another copy if I could get it sealed, now I wish I had. Too bad I ended up waiting until all the copies were gone from my neighborhood Walmart and then had to buy it used for about the same price 6 months after the fact.

As for the PS1 games, I wish I saw the same stock that some of you do. I have been meaning to get some of the later 989 games and a couple of the later day EA titles. See, I am one of the resident "obsolete sports game fans." The only PS1 games I see laying around are puzzle games, driving games or pinball games.

If you are any type of collector, you'll want to own at least one copy of it. That is if you haven't picked it up yet.

As you might have already read on that link beforehand, it was the last N64 game in the US. That alone makes it worth grabbing and $15 isn't a bad price for a brand new copy, even if the game and system is outdated.

Hmm I might have to pick it up, though was hoping for one more price drop on it.

The Toys'R'Us I used to work at still had some new PS1 games a few months ago, but they were fairly old stock. Nothing too weird, other than a copy of Incredible Crisis that seems to have vanished. ;_;

My local best buy had Resident Evil 3 for the ps1, pop up out of no where. O_o

It wasn't marked down or anything though. I debated on picking one up, since it was 19.99, but passed.

I do remember ever seeing the games when they carried PS one games or last year for that matter.

The Frye's I was at yesterday had the FF Chronicles and Origins discs back on the shelves (and I know they weren't there previously when I went there)
