Hello all-
I have a question that has been bugging me for years that I have never been able to find an answer to.
Why in the world do titles from EA Games look very or overly pixelated on the original XBOX while the same titles look fine on the PS2?
At first I thought it was the XBOX or a faulty game, perhaps even my TV. But I have come to the conclusion that it can't be any of those as it happens with several if not all EA Games titles and I've tried them on several original XBOX's produced at different years and on different TV's.
Anyone know what the deal is or know what I'm talking about? Thanks guys.:beaten: :-D

I'm thinking since they're multi-platform titles, EA will develop for lowest common denominator (which is the best selling system), the PS2. From there, the game, graphics, sound, etc. are all ported over to other systems with little or no changes. Look at any multi-platform game (a great example is Phantasy Star Universe) - whatever system is the most underpowered will actually be the one using its system's potential the most.
Just an opinion though, since I avoid EA games and don't know what you're talking about firsthand.

Hi ShenmueFan-
Thanks for the reply. Now there's something I didn't think of before......but thing is an EA Game that is released on all the platforms will look fine on the PS2 and GameCube but pixelated on the Xbox..... some prime examples are-
James Bond Games, Medal of Honor Series, Need for Speed Underground, etc.
Anyone experience this first hand?

I've played Tiger Woods 2004, Burnout 3, and Def Jam Fight For NY on the PS2 and Xbox and I never noticed a difference graphically. Never tried any of the titles you mentioned though.

Well, most of the Xbox versions of EA games that I've played look - at least to me - much nicer than the PS2 versions.
But there are some others like, Medal of Honor: Rising Sun, that look like total crap.
I'd probably go with Shenmuefan and say that the games were primarily developed for the PS2 and then, in many cases, lazily ported over to the Xbox.
EA never seemed to be that much in the Xbox camp - their online servers were pretty awful even for popular games like Burnout - so it wouldn't surprise me that EA treated the Xbox market as an afterthought.
