Dreamcast makes ticking noise

I got this dreamcast a couple days ago, and it plays fine. The only problem is, whenever the laser moves, it ticks loud. I took it apart just to see if there was anything obvious, but there isn't. Any suggestions?

if i were you, i would replace it. my dreamcast doesn´t make any noise at all.

If your dreamcast doesn't make any noise at all, my guess is that your dc has problems :P

Is it more of a whirring sound?

Maybe like a very soft "card in the spokes of a bicycle wheel" kinda sound?

Does it make a rather RUDE sound when it loads something else? lol

That'd be mine... and I'm told it's functioning properly.

More like you're pedaling really fast and you stuck the card in there. I have another DC that's in great condition and it doesn't make that noise. Who knows, maybe different models make different sounds.

Mine kind of sounds like scraping a shopping card with no wheels across a bed of ice, its bad, and i'm rather upset my DC keeps freezing up on the load screen for Soul Caliber, time to find a new console.
