EAT COMMUNISM!
The games which were considered "mature" or how would I put it...a tad violent or not for little kids ( and I mean little little kids ) back in the late 80s or early 90s are hardly mature by todays standards, as much as I love 2d games along with 3d, they just do not give off the realism factor that a hq gpu can.
Looking at mature titles today they normaly fall into a few categories.
1-Violence
2-Language
3-Mature subject which is normaly sex, alcohol or whatever other things "Adults" do.
4-Mature subject which really translates to "will christian america be offended by this".
Obviously we don't want in our current society, 10 year olds running around the house saying "mom I gotta take a fucking shit really godamn bad" ( although I am sure this goes on in some...areas ) cause well, we are adults and the real reason we find it offensive is not because they are using that language, but because we gotta remind them they are NOT an adult yet. There does come a point where it starts to become a non issue because they just learn about it all or act a certain way at school and regardless if you like it or not, it is up to them to decide how they choose to act in adult society.
I have found the adults who do get offended at swearing, sexual content and violence to be the most stupid fucking cunts in the world, I mean think about it for a second, if you are the kind of person who gets offended at a WORD, then you need to take a good look at yourself and say "Yea I am a really stupid fucking prude anal retentive cocksucker" cause in the real world, as much as there is good, there is plenty of bad and it will go on as long as humanity exists. Now I am not saying people should go around swearing and being rude to people but in some situations it's perfectly ok unless you are anal retentive or a limp wristed pussy and tell everyone else how much better you are then them because you don't say FUCK.
Violence is an interesting one, I love violent games and movies, but I am not a violent person unless it comes down to it, as in someone is going to attack me or whatnot. I think ( and nobody likes to admit this ) that if kid's DO turn out violent, that it's not video games or movies, it could be that ( opening a can of worms I know ) they just have mental problems running in their family or the kid may just really be a fucked up stupid freak.
The majority of people who play or are into mature games or movies do not turn out to be axe murdering idiots or emo hs students who run around shooting people, thats just the fucking conservatives wanting to point a finger instead of the shitty ways parents raise their children.
If you bring your children up with ethics or morals, teach them that its not ok or cool to go around hurting or harming others, as long as they listen and do not have mental problems they should turn out just fine. You can sit down with them maybe when they play mature games, don't preasure them or anything, just talk to them and try to find out how they feel over this stuff.
If they just look at it like it is a game and entertainment, not reality and that they would never do the things that happen in shit titles like GTA then you are fine.
If they start hanging out with shitty friends at school, wanting to become some piece of shit ghetto gang banger and start using drugs, you know you have a problem.
Communication with your kids should be a top priority with parents.
