My NES and Snes look real good on it I just switch the scale but my ps2 gamecube look kinda crappy . I was thinking maybe get the HD cables for them which i think i seen. Both systems lack HD-support so the resolutions they output to have to be upconverted / scaled to fit your TV's resolution. If you have any experience with digital image manipulation, you'll know that stretching an image in increments of anything other than multiples of 100% (200%, 300%, etc.) will result in bizarre pixel distortion (lines of pixels may be dropped altogether or certain lines may be stretched to fill up multiple lines of pixels).
Unless a game or system specifically supports your display's native resolution, you will get extreme distortion. It's not as noticeable on CRT TVs because of the interlacing which lessens this stretching effect but on LCD/PLasma TVs it'll result in blocky/pixelated imagery or blurry, blurry visuals.

Well, if you don't have HD cables, how do you think you'd get anything resembling HD? Of course you need those.
Even then however, few games even support 480p on those consoles, let along anything higher. It will be a minor difference, but not by much.

thanks for the info guys. That kinda sucks that the cable might not make much diff . I didn't think it would be HD quality but I also didn't think it would look worst than on the regular TV. Do most of you have your systems hook up to diffrent tv sets?

No, I don't find 480p that intolerable. Yes, it's ugly, but you're still going to have issues with a standard TV too like flicker.

The cable makes a huge difference with the PS2. Get the component cable and play some Gran Turismo 4 and Gradius V.

And if you can...get cables for the Cube. Nearly all the Cube games do support 480p. Many of them aren't even labeled as supporting 480p but holding down the B button when starting a game I usually get a "Do you want to switch to progressive scan mode?" most of the time.
PS2 games on the other hand....I have over 60 ps2 games and I think I can count the number of them that support 480p or progressive scan at all on one hand....ugh. Almost feels like a waste for me getting component cables on my PS2 given the lack of titles that actually support it.

There is only one Real component cable for the cube: The official nintendo cable. The third party cables don't "Do" It right.
The official nintendo component cables will not work on your cube if it does not have 3 ports on the back of the unit. It has to be an older system.
