Just checked shopgoodwill.com and they have what appears to be a complete Miracle Piano setup for the NES. Any guesses how high it will go? My guess is "higher than I want to pay."

Yeah I would agree with you.. I bet it goes for more than most people would pay... Everything on shopgoodwill seems to go for more then it's worth.

Yeah. One time, I saw a lot of Genesis games (Nothing worth it, just sports games) go for $20+, while on eBay, it wouldn't sell for even $1

What is going on here. Some sort of shill bidding or something? Why would shopgoodwill.com be preferred by people to eBay?

I think it's mostly a bunch of naive bidders that don't really have any sense of value of the stuff being sold; they figure that if Goodwill is selling it, then it must be priced cheap. The buyers are probably planning to turn around and flip the stuff on eBay, but I can't imagine they'd have any luck considering how much they're overpaying.

Also people think of it as a charity auction. Some/most people think giving money to Goodwill is a good cause. I've never bought anything from there. I'm sure there are some good deals but for the most part the prices are way higher than Ebay.

I got a Zelda and Contra for a buck each, with sleeve and little nifty plastic cases in there...it all depends on who priced the stuff at the goodwill. I went htere one day and they had console stuff priced at ebay prices, sometimes it's dirt cheap. Honestly it's a bit of a gamble.

I won an auction on there about three years ago that had 17 ps1 game for $28.00, and Intelligent qube was in there complete. That was back then though. It seems like alot more people know about that site and the auctions have been selling for more and more. It started getting that way about a year and a half or two years ago. It makes me wish I could open a sellers acount on there and dump off a bunch of my sega sports titles. I bet I could get $30 or $40 for my 8 doom 32x carts.

I think you're talking about the store, we're talking about how high the auctions on the website seem to go.
Oh, I didn't realize shopgoodwill was an auction site. I never go there, I thought it was like normal goodwill where they have some guy just toss it on there and someone buys it. My bad, ignore what I said. :)

Shimmy to eBay Insanity.... since this really doesn't need to be in classic gaming.
