With a bit of a catch. I'm looking for the earlier model. How do you tell?
You open the Game Gear and while looking at the back side of the circuit board, there is 2 large black chip on the right side, not one large one.
So, if you've got one, I want it. I'm not cheap, so I'm not aiming for the lowest price in the world. It's just that you can't ask any old eBayer to open their GG, ya know?
So, pretty please sell me one?

i think i have one. when i get home i will look at it and see.
only problem is this. the unit comes on and the speaker makes some static noise then nothing. the unit stays on, but the screen never shows anything. i checked the backlight and its good.

I just opened up an older model and there are 2 large chips on the left, 1 of them is about 2 1/2 times the size of the other. And one chip on MY right which is the same size as the smaller one on the left?

I got a little confused there. when you are looking at the back of the circuit board and the bottom of the GG is toward you and the cartridge slot is facing away from you, on the right side there will be 2 large chips. Like this:

Only withut the multi colored wires and red tape.

Turns out I could only find 1 of my units. The others must be in storage, along with my security bits, apparently.:frustrated:

He wants to mod it for RGB out.

Yep. TV out it is. Actually, someone else is doing the mod for me, since I blew my last one up.
The GG only has one security screw, and it can be removed with needle nose pliers, since it is right by the surface, iirc.

I was thinking about $10 or $15 over eBay value + shipping to make it worth your while. So around $45 total, I guess. But, we can talk. Sound good?
