Hey Everybody! I am very happy to say i finally got to have my own collection Room! I just turned 21, and moved out of my parents place. Me and my girlfriend got our own place and now i finally have a room that i got to make into my Game Collection Room! After about 6 months of building shelves, buying more stuff, and decorating its finally finished! I also compiled a list of my Entire Collection as well, and just finished my website showcasing all of it! I have tons of pictures of All kinds of video game stuff i have from Atari - the Xbox 360. And lots of NES STUFF! Just click on pictures. Oh and i also made a page where i typed out some of my cool finds, that i have had over the past couple years, if anyone is interested in those. :-)
Please take a look at my website and post on here what ya think!
Heres the link for my website>

Yeah nice room. The signs are nice; every game room needs a couple of items only a serious collector would go after.
That Odyssey 2 looks lonely.
Your website lists the TG-16 games as CIB but they look to be missing the boxes in the pictures I saw...nice collection of them though...

hehe yea man! It was by far the craziest thing i ever got for my birthday. most guys get a keg party, with naked chicks, and i get an old plastic nintendo game from the 80's lol
But i have to say i was more thrilled with this little nintendo game from the 80's than a keg party anyways. man i feel like a dork saying that haha!
by the way they paid 9 for it i believe. "whewww"
funny story was they actually won i believe $700.00 at bingo the same night they got it for me, lol so after that, that made me feel a lot beter, and im sure they did too :-)

your collection is really nice and its a well put together game room...but on your site you might want to take "splatterhouse" off of the "rare game" list since anyone with 25 bucks can get one at nesreproductions.com

Phew man, thats one nice setup, and the stories add some great depth to the whole thing. I may have missed it, but what's the story behind the Kay-Bee sign? (Oh the memories it has brought back!)

Yeah since NES Repros started coming out things like the Earthbound Proto are just worthless to collectors eh? On second though, why not just collect roms? I mean they're the same game.
No you're missing my point. The game he HAS is a reproduction. That is not rare. He has it listed under "rare". It is a reproduction. You misinterpreted what I was saying, if I didn't care about collectors value I would just be playing emulators and not actually here talking about collections now would I? No, I wouldn't.

Hey bro, actually to be honest the splatterhouse IS NOT a reproduction. I own Wanapuki Graffitti for the famicom. All i did was open up a gyromite cart, took ou the convertor, opened up my splatterhouse famicom cart, took out the circuit board, hooked it up right through the set up, put it all back in a cart. Printed up and resized "my own" custom label. And voila splatterhouse in an american cart easy to play without any outside convertors :-) So i actually own the original and could put it back in it if i wanted too. :-) That is why i have a picture of it, because i made it. Now i could have programmed it from a rom and wired it to a board but i didnt, (because at the time when i did this conversion i didnt know how to do it then) but now i do thats why i have a super contra 7 and super mario 2 japanse. now those are games i made myself, but i didnt take pics of them. :-)
As for the Kay Bee Sign. I got if off ebay. And your not gonna believe this.
FOR $60.00 !!!!!!!
He actually lived about 40 mintues away and i got to do a local pick up. !! he actually spelled the word Nintendo wrong in the aucion, and had like $150.00 shipping on it. So after seeing if i could o a local pick up, i bid and won it. and got to buy it for a flat $60.00!! I actually should put that in my finds i guess. lol.
But the sign is awesome, its huge!!!! about 8 feet long, 2 feet deep, and about 2 feet tall. Lights up and runs through these different light sequences and is fiber optic. i love it!
oh and yes i managed to get all this in id say about 4 years, lots and lots of hunting flea markets, trading, and scouting ebay lol.
Thanks again everyone for all the great feedback!

I've been thinking about putting some of those shelves in like you have to display the front-covers to my more desirable/rarer boxed NES games. Looking at your pictures makes me want to do it even more!

I've always wanted to figure a way to have as much box artwork on display as I possible could, should I ever get my own game room. I REALLY like how you've done that! And that's probably just the way I'll end up doing it. Store the bulk of it as neatly and compactly as possible and then whatever wall/counter/shelf space that's left over is for beautiful case artwork. Then when you tire of it after a spell, you just change it out with some new stuff to display. Nothing invites me to play a game like cover art!
That's a heck of a nice room you have there! And you managed to collect AND organize all that in a little over three years? My, you've been busy!

Well that's cool and all, but still doesn't make it rare. Why would you do that? Just get an AV Famicom. But hey, to each their own, it's a sweet collection regardless.

hey thanks again guys for all the kind words. :-)
i would say its more of about 4 years to do all this :-) i started collecting when i was 17, im 21 now. But at first it was just like collecting whatever i found in the wild, and then started adding up over the years. And then i started searching more and more for stuff. i am so happy to finally have room for evetything in a nice room now, I used to have to keep everything in my parents basement, and there was a wood stove down there, and everything would always get dusty an dirty. So im very fortunate to have everything in a much nicer environment lol.
Well that's cool and all, but still doesn't make it rare. Why would you do that? Just get an AV Famicom. But hey, to each their own, it's a sweet collection regardless.
its rare to me, considering i never saw any others like it. (and i was totally unaware leon reproduced it, and gamereproductions. they both dont have it advertised on their site? plus i really dont have any other place for it. lol. i just snapped a pic of the cart i made, put it in the rare games, because i thought it was neat and most people have prolly never seen something like that. In fact got some compliments from others saying "woah thats a cool splatterhouse cart you made" i didnt really think it was much of a big deal realy.? Plus i didnt want an av famicom when i can reproduce pretty much any famicom game to play on my us nes. Thanks though for the kind words on my room and collection :-)
anyways Thanks everybody and feel free to ask any questions on anything. id be glad to answer :-)

The NES has inferior hardware, it's missing some chips that certain cartridges use (like Castlevania 3) that even with the adaptor will not run on a NES, only on Famicom.

Good backstory there on the Kay*Bee sign. I'm happy several posters mentioned it in their post about how the sign invokes a lot of good rich memories. I knew I wasn't alone. Kay*Bee was always one of my "hot spots" at the mall in the late 80s through mid 90s. I remember playing Super Metroid there in the Spring of '94. I remember my brother buying NES Legendary Wings when it first came out. Oh the memories.
Yeah, I've had my fair share of eBay luck too. You gotta love good stories like that. Mis-spelt (sp? lol, the irony) Nintendo, 40 minutes away local pick up, saved $150 S&H, $60 flat... DAMN.
Just a couple questions:
1. Did you contact the seller in advance asking if you could do a pick-up, and save $150 by skipping S&H?
2. Out of curiosity, what was your max bid? Or do you not recall?
3. Related to question 2 -- if you knew somehow that you could NOT have done a local pickup, what would your max bid have been, knowing you had to pay $150 S&H?
4. Did you snipe the auction? How many seconds to go? Tell me that you did ;)
I love when there's a big eBay item that you're lucky enough to be able to pick up. Especially when S&H is high, because it really can change your max bid. While people bid up to $50 (S&H in this case being 150... so you assume they didn't want to spend no more than $200 total), YOU have the luxury of bidding $200 straight up, knowing it won't cost you $350, but at the very most $200 if you won.
In other words -- you're in the f'n driver seat.
That's good stuff man. I love hearing back stories like that. I love eBay too. I was just thinking about eBay last night when I picked up an issue of Super Play Magazine to read. I can't believe I got the whole set, for so cheap, and these babies are in MINT condition. The seller did not put "SNES" in the auction and I got very very lucky.
That whole collection by 21? Damn, you've worked it. How much actual playing do you do BTW? Favorite system and game?

1. hey man yep! contacted the seller in advance and he said local pik up would be fine.
2. i believe my max bid was like $100.00 or something like that. I didnt bid much because i had NO IDEA the sign was like this at all. in fact i thought it was just like this little thin sign that just had a bulb in the back. he only had one picture in the auction, and it wasnt even lit up in it. So i wasnt necessarily dieing to have it at the time. UNTIL I SAW IT IN PERSON LOL. The thing was enormous, and lit up in these crazy fiber optic patterns! after knowing what it was and what it does i would have bid like $350.00 on it. But luckily i got it for what i did get it for.
3. I would have probably only bid $200.00 if i had to pay for shipping.
4. Yea i kinda sniped the auction, i actually know the person who was bidding on it. his username is Dangevin and hes atually a meber of a lot of these sites. Although i only think he bid $55.00 or something because he planned to pay the $150.00 shipping. After the auction he sent me a message telling me to enjoy the sign haha lol. hes a cool dude. But i dont think he knew it was like this either because he probably would have bid more. the auction didnt really say much about it. except that is was an old nintendo sign, worked well. and thats pretty much it lol.
Yep i love hearing stores about how people got cool game items too. Thats the whole reason i made a "my finds" section on my site, just to let some people know what ive scored, cause i always like hearing how other people scored stuff like this too. :-) I hope you enjoyed my site. thanks a lot for all the great comments!
Thanks again everybody for all the great feedback. And remeber check out my site for BETTER pictures of everything and some other cool stuff. I have a few repros myself for atari 2600 (combat 2 and something else I can't remember off of the top of my head).
Repros are fun because it gives you the opportunity to play the games they way they were meant to be played (on the system itself).
But yeah, you totally are making me want to get more NES games, because I am slacking in that department (and the 2600 one as well, hahaha)

I saw that some of your games were still sealed in the boxes, for the boxes that are open do you have the games and everything packed in with them, or are the games up on the loose cartridge section. Cuz if they're still in the boxes that is an even greater amount of games. :P Ive recently started collection NES games in the boxes and was just interested to know and trying to figure out how I want to display mine.

Hey dude. Actually all the boxes are just on display with no games in em. I do however i have about 50 games over in plastic cases that are over under some of the boxed genny games. I gotta still put labels on the sides of the plastic cases though. I found that its not a very good idea to keep the games in boxes, especially if you play em. Because then you always have to open the box and mess with it a lot which can hurt the value in some cases. Hope this helps.
And thanks for looking at my collection :-)

Very impressive collection, especially for such a young guy.
Probably even more impressive is that you live with a woman that lets you take up a whole room with it :)
Just curious, do you have a "regular" job. Because amassing all that stuff seems like it would take a long time.
Also, if you are in an apartment, get some renter's insurance. It won't replace the sentimental value, but it looks like you've dropped quite a bit of cash into that collection.

Hey man. yep i have just a normal job like anyone else. I work at a body shop that my dad owns. "car repair". Only make 9 bucks an hour too lol. But in time ill get more raises and make a lot more like my old man does. As for everything i own i got REALLY REALLY lucky on a lot of the great suff. And im fortunate to live in an area where you can still find game items cheap. I live in the boonies lol. And it even seems like the internet hasnt even hit down here yet haha.! Plus ive done a lot of trading and skillful buying the last couple of years. And yes i have very good insurance hehe. Anyways thanks a lot man for the very nice comments. Thanks dude! :-)

I haven't been frequenting the Classic forum as much recently, but I came across your thread here.
Your collection is simply unreal. Lots of neat touches that make it unique, and not just someone hoarding cartridges. It really sets your collection apart from the others.
And thanks for the heads-up on those NES box protectors. I may need to invest in some of those myself. I didn't even know they existed!

Hey thanks a lot man! Thats really nice to hear man. Thats what i was going for. To make something look different and very nice. Yea those box protectors are very very cool. In fact i believe everyone at www.nintendoage.com are getting together to try and buy a HUGE bulk order and get them for a great price. i believe the more you buy the more you save. So if ya want just go to nintendoage.com and become a member, and check out the forums. Youll see the one about the nes box protectors. Its a really great site, especially if your a fan of the original NES
Thanks again for the nice comments!
