What systems had different colored discs for their Greatest Hits version (or Player's Choice, etc.)

I know the PS1 discs are black and white when the originals are color. What other systems are like this?

Also, I specifically ask this because I re-bought RE4 today to rid myself of the Player's Choice version, and the disc is still black and white. Is this normal for the GC version?

Thanks.

The copy that I purchased on day 1 has a black and white label. Gamecube labels were never very colorful.

All Nintendo disc based media (read: Wii and GC) are only two colors, max. It saves on costs. Having not collected variants for game cube, I'd say check the CDs' for different serial numbers. I'm almost positive the only difference between the two are the front cover.

When Gamecube games go Players Choice the only thing that changes on them is the ugly yellow case insert. Manual and disc stay the same.

Thank you. I am also wondering what systems in general have different color discs for they're GH line. Is it ONLY the PS1 that does this?

I'm not sure the ps1 even does this. all of my ps1 GH discs are the same as the originals except for a GH in the serial number on the disc.

Not only do Nintendo Gamecube discs not have any changed markings for PC... but Gameboy Advance games in Player's Choice do not have differently marked carts.

Oh, I don't know about that.... many sought after games have different colored discs in GH.

Final Fantasy VII - White Discs
FFVII GH - Silver Discs

Castlevania SOTN - Black Disc
CV SOTN GH - Silver Disc

The truth is there is some variants when it comes to disc color changes even on GH.

Some examples...

Before Squaresoft merged with enix the majority of their GH were silver, but I had a gh copy of FFVIII when it came out, it was naturaly silver, I later sold it and rebought FFVIII and FF chronicles, every single disc on SE version has SE logo AND each disk also has the FF8 icon of them hugging, also each disk is BLACK AND WHITE.

MMX4 original has artwork I believe on it, I had GH before I got the x collection and the disc was white with black lettering.

I am sure there is other examples out there but thats just a heads up on variations.

Pissed me off when I bought that cause there was no way to tell but you can see there was a mis-cut on the booklet top area!!! anyone seen this before ?

Well, my loose MMX4 is blue w/ a picture of mega man on it.

I know that Crash Bash GH is a silver/black&white disc, but the original is full color. I guess I was under the assumption that all PS1 games were like this, but I guess it is just some.

So...back to my original question, what other systems do this?

Okay, for the record:

Greatest Hits PSX Discs come in four flavors:
(scroll to bottom of each page, on left side)

- Clear CD with Black / Grey / White Text (Simplified)

- Clear / Monochromatic version of original disc image:

- Black CD with White / Clear Text (Altered Disc Artwork)

- White CD with Black / Clear Text
http://www.game-rave.com/psx/playstation_perfect_guide/releasedgames/xenogears/index.html

That said, there are variants within the Greatest Hits selection, and one or two exceptions:

Variants:
a. Square Enix's re-re-releases conform to the white background/black text-ish set-up. Usually they were the clear disc varieties.

b. Collector's Editions 3 Packers were all white cd / black text logo, and all 3 games were on the same layout template

Exceptions
a. Dukes of Hazzard is the only GH to retain its original color disc.

Yay, variant hunter get!
