I expected this to be an April Fool's joke, but since it was posted late in the day, I think it's legit. Sounds pretty awesome, luckily all EA is doing is publishing.

Seems like Harmonix has now tackled every instrument/part of a standard 4-piece band. Now all they need is a keyboard game.

Also worth noting, as davidbrit pointed out in his thread on this very topic, is that MTV, the 'creative' force behind this title, had MTV Soundscape Drum Sim arcade machine. I forgot about that hideous thing, and rightly so.

With the success of GH, I pretty much assumed something like this would come out. The one thing that freaks me out about it though is that the Kotaku article mentions that it'll come with 4 peripherals (2 guitars, drums & mic). Are they going to sell this all in one giant, expensive package, or can you piece it together with existing GH guitars and Karaoke Revolution microphones? I don't even want to think about how much it'll cost.

Assuming this is real, and Gannett isn't easily fooled, I'll orgasm.

Then go buy a 360 :)

it's real (i hope)

they've already stated that they want to work on a project more ambitious than GH, which is why Neversoft is now the GH developers

New image surfaces of the guitar controller, shows a bit of the functionality:

That looks sweeeet but I hope they plan on making it for lefties too or else I'll be screwed.

From the looks of the top picture the colors are duplicated on the other side, which would make it great for lefties.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Looking at it again, you can definitely see another set of colors on the lefty side where the high notes are. Guess it doesn't matter anyway since you don't really need to look down at the keys while playing anyway. I was just hoping that the fret buttons were symmetrical, which it looks like they are.

I hope they're smart enough though to put an extra strap peg on there for lefties (like how the Xplorer had).

The smaller keys on the lower part of the guitar frighten me. I have enough problems with the keys right now, imagine with smaller ones. >_<

smaller keys = solos

smaller keys = solos

Smaller keys = me pushing two buttons instead of one by accident.

Can't this company come up with something original anymore?
