Is there a list anywhere of Genesis games rereleased by Majesco? If not, are people interested in starting one? Because I have no clue how many games they rerelased.
I know they rereleased Mario Andretti Racing, and F-22 Interceptor.. Until today I didn't know they rereleased Sonic 3D Blast. I bought a copy on eBay without knowing it. And it's not easy to tell. The only thing I noticed at first was the registration card that came with the game. It was addressed to Majesco. On closer inspection, I noticed the colours on the box weren't as vibrant (though still excellent), the part number (1844) under the Sega seal is gone, in the copyright info it mentions Majesco being the distributor, there's a 900-number on the back for game tips, and the game secrets logo on the cart is all black and white instead of the blocky dude being yellow.
The box that holds the manual and cart also has the end flaps closing on the bottom instead of the top.
Normally I wouldn't keep Majesco releases because they rereleased games that originally came in plastic cases in cardboard, but this came originally came in cardboard, and the differences are not noticible unless you are a bigtime nitpicker. Plus my copy is in worse condition, I'm keeping the Majesco version (though I swapped carts). I am sure one day I will be nitpicky enough to want an original Sega version :P
