Why no multiplayer?

Mulitplayer is in the game (except the japanese version). If you're thinking of offline split-screen i guess it was a time issue.

Yes it is an excellent game. Really shows what the PS3 can do just out of launch. Cant wait for whats to come.

I can honestly say that, if I had the expendable funds right this very second, I would go get myself a PS3, all thanks to Motorstorm.

actually I hate that game ... compared to MotorStorm.. MotorStorm is just so awesome when u do big jumps use the right stick to look around .. I for the first time said .. WOOOOOOOOOW amazing!!!

I always assumed they would have a patch for the Japanese version that would add multiplayer. I used to own the Japanese version, and I almost kept it because I thought for sure they would have a patch available on the Japanese Playstation Store, but maybe not. Good thing I sold that one and got a US version.

Found this comparison screen shots on Kotaku. Now, I don't own a PS3 but man that's a huge difference.

Well of course it is, the first shot is probably from the opening video or some sort of movie. The next is actual gameplay. The teasers always make you think it's going to look so great, then once you get it you say, ahh ****. I wish they would make games the way they make those videos. Oh well, Maybe in another 10 years.

Hehe, they couldnt have picked a better screenshot? This shows no draw distance and why compare to E3 2006 shot and not retail (or is the article old?). E3 2005 demo was pre-rendered, even confirmed by Sony, so everyone knew it wouldnt look as good as that. All the close-ups, different angles, much more effects etc. makes it looks so much better. Wouldnt be easy to play with all these angles changing tho hehe.

EDIT: Found the article myself, see its about online play and just a illustration picture to the article :) Sux that the japanese version wont even get a software update so they can play online. Good thing is that PS3 games are region free so they can import if they want.

Motorstorm is the best racer I've played in years. As soon as I played the demo, I was hooked. I retract any previous negative statements I wrote here at DP. I am a total convert.
