For those interested, I was on the Playstation Store a few hours ago with the PS3 and saw a new download for PS2 HDD compatibility. Apparently, it allows those PS2 HDD games to function correctly on the PS3's HDD. I personally do not have any of those games (all I know of was FF?), but still good to see that backward compatibility is still in their sights. Also saw the GTA IV trailer there too :)

I believe it's been up for a week or so; I just picked up my PS3 on Friday and I recall downloading that on Saturday or Sunday. The only games I have that support it would be Resident Evil Outbreak File 1 and 2, but I'm looking forward to giving 'em a shot. Previously I couldn't install them to the hard drive and still play online (the one shortcoming of HDLoader :( ), so I'm looking forward to seeing how this improves things.

Street fighter alpha anthrology lets you put thegames on the hard drive for faster load times. I hope that works.

Does this mean I can use my HDLoader. Heh.

Nope, the first thing I did when I downloaded the patch was run to my hd loader disc. No dice :(
