I got this Nintendo item in with a lot of Legos at work. it looks like it holds a Gameboy. The Sega item I think is part of a store display and looks like it holds CDs, Saturn maybe? I bought it as a sample because I found a whole bunch of them but now the store is gone so I guess I won't be getting any more.

The Nintendo item looks like it is something that could hold a N64 console, some memory cards and a few games. The Sega item appears to be part of a retail shelf display where you could slide games in front of the spring loaded back to hold them in place. (whether that be saturn, genesis or whatever)

I could be wrong though, but that is my opinion.

The Nintendo thing is the plastic case that the 'Play It Loud' edition Gameboys came packaged in. As for the Sega thing, it looks like a standard, spring loaded display rack. As for which game type, it's hard to tell by the picture. I would definately say pre-Dreamcast since I think they changed the Sega logo around that time. Then again, I may be wrong.

Thanks for the info. So is a "Play It Loud" Gameboy any original size Gameboy that's not gray?

Info on the Play It Loud Gameboys, taken without permission from the wonder that is wikipedia:

In 1995, Nintendo released several Game Boy models with colored cases, advertising them in the Play it Loud! campaign. Specifications for this unit remain exactly the same as the original GameBoy, including the monochromatic screen. This new line of colored Game Boys would set a precedent for later Nintendo handhelds; the Game Boy Pocket, the Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance (including the SP and Micro), Nintendo DS, and the Nintendo DS Lite all feature different colored units. Play It Loud units were manufactured in red, yellow, green, black, blue, white and clear cases. A very rare, limited edition Manchester United Game Boy - red, with the logos of the team emblazoned on - was released coterminously with the Play it Loud! handhelds in the United Kingdom

Personally, I have a black one and a green one with the original box.

If it fits regular sized CD cases, then it has to be Dreamcast, though, since the Sega CD and Saturn used the tall cases. Sega never changed their logo as far as I know, though they did stop using it so prominently on Dreamcast products sometime in 2000, so maybe this rack would be for the Dreamcast in 1999 or early 2000.
