Some people have a bookcase full of games, some convert a whole room,
and a few while even remodel a whole basement.
This gamer from Atariage went to the next level....erecting his own free standing building.

Very cool. I could see someone doing that for cabs to save space and not warp floorboards, but for everything that's crazy but cool.

What, no moat?!
"on the reals" though, that's pretty sweet. I hope that he has some state-of-the-art security system on that bad boy too.

While it cool and all, it would be nice if he didn't have to walk outside to get to it.
I hope to have my basement of my house like this one day.

I'm impressed but not as much as I'm supposed to be. When you own that many piles of crap, how do you ever decide what to play? You just sit there and stare at everything, with no clue what to do.... so what's the point?
... I'm sure I could easily help him make that more manageable.....

that is pretty sweet, i'm jealous. can i ask a question? well i'm gonna anyway.
why is it that alot of times when you see these pics of somebody's bada$$ collection the only tv in the room is like a 19" from the 80's. if yer gonna spend that much money on yer video games you should at least get yerself a sweet tv. just my opinion though.

No way man, if your playing old games I would want the full experience. My dream is less expensive and expansive than that guys-- I want a room were every single item in it is from the 80's. Be like going back in time.
Now if that guy actually had a 19" TV from the 80's then he'd be cool-- like a TV with a tiny screen built into an unnecessarily huge wood frame, weighing like 600 pounds. But he doesn't. It looks like some generic old TV from the late 90's. Completely not cool. That was probably all he could afford after blowing all his money on thousands of games he would never play and a massive storage shed to put them in.

im wondering if all those ataris are variants or if the dups are just dups?

I dunno, maybe I'm just an ass, but that just looked like a big pile of crap. Like a flea market stall or something.
I've seen many nicer collections in the DP Room of Doom pages.
That said, I'm still jealous. :D

Yeah, I seen that over there and I still think it looks more like a store than anything. Which is not to say that I wouldn't want to have all of that stuff. :P

Worst part is that he built it and it's too small...

I know.....he would need a building at least twice that size just to make things easily accessed and to get some funcionality out of it.
Add some couches and a minibar or something.

That's...that's pretty amazing. Definitely the biggest hoard of Atari stuff I've seen in a while.
Well... there's one thing he can't buy... ... ... ... a dinosaur!
If he ever did he could put it next to the giant penny.

It's impressive and all, but that poor.. poor.. poor vintage pachinko machine needs to be displayed properly, not laying against its back. Perhaps it is set up in one of the pictures - the search will continue when I get home from work.

Honestly, I want to be impressed. But I'm not. How many atari's do you need? Why does he have some piss ass quality TV? Why so many duplicate items? This person isn't just a collector, he hordes items...which is one thing, I don't hold that against him. But the place doesn't even look nice. It's just, stock piled. Like the line of PC Monitors. Why? Utterly pointless. My game room is set up with functionality in mind...i have 3 N64's, but I only have one on display because honestly, why would I need the other ones out? *rolls eyes* Still though, I applaud him for what he's accomplished. I'm just saying it can be pulled off much better.

Now thats awesome...Id like to have that someday...but attatched to my house...preferably a nice big furnished basement...lord knows in the dead of winter, i dont want to have to "bundle" up and brave the arctic chill in order to play my games

Wow. That guy has a lot of stuff.
really nice, but too much dups. clear out the dups, and he'll have some space to display everything properly

It says that the room has been tore up a bit because of some flooding, so we should cut him a little slack. No forgiveness for the dups though...but the pics are posted on ATariAge so an Atari addiction is appropriate over there...

It is cool and all, but I agree with some posters above that it is kind of dumpy looking.
I mean, if I was going to go to that extent, I would at least make the place somewhat inviting with a nice couch and a big tv and maybe get all that crap off the floor.
I agree, there are much better rooms on DP.
edit: OK I just read that it had flooded and that's why it looks like shit. wow, that really SUCKS !!!

Merged, please continue on!
Now to get an additional game room built onto my apartment... not that I think the apartment people will let that happen... especially on the second floor.
