Gyakuten Saiban 4 unfortunately does not have an English option X_X
Part 3 should be coming based on the sales of part II :)
Part 1-3 were actually originally GBA games and later ported to the DS.
Phoenix Wright 1 got the better end of the stick getting a whole new DS exclusive extra case, whereas PW2 was a straight port... X_X

True that, but I honestly couldn't see a fifth case being fit in between the storylines of 2 and 3 without fudging with the continuity. PW1's fifth case was a close fit as it was.
I love, I love, I LOOOOOVE Phoenix Wright. Without a doubt, one of my favorite games as of late. Having beaten the first two games and loving every minute of them, I can't wait for the third title with Godot, the coffee-addicted visor-sporting prosecutor. Iiiiiiiiii... think I'm hopelessly addicted to these games. Despite being rather linear and technically not having much replay value, I've beaten every case more than once. Is that bad? *_*

I've been trying to savor the second installment, but oy, this second case is yucky. I have already had to consult a FAQ once (SPOILER, highlight to read: why exactly would a hole that smells like gunpowder not have gunpowder burns!?) and I fear I might have to do so again. (SPOILER: Yes, obviously the vase should read "Ami" instead of "I Am", but what evidence am I supposed to present to support that!?)
Also, if you have the slightest interest in instrumental pieces, you should listen to this.

There's nothing wrong with any of you.
The Phoenix Wright series is that good.
I decided to play through the first game again, and it's like seeing an old friend you haven't seen in a while.
I hope the responses from the contest Capcom held was enough to knock some sense into them. Not bringing GS3 over would be like throwing money away. HOW many times did the first Phoenix get reprinted? Word of mouth was the best advertising for the first two games.
One of my friends is considering a DS after being exposed to the Objectiony Goodness.
But most of all, it seems we can all agree on something. :-D
(SPOILER: Matt Engarde is a douche)

September?! DAMN!! That's a lot earlier than I would have expected... I was thinking December at the very earliest.
Well, I won't take that as set-in-stone fact, but it does give me something to look forward to. :D

So does someone who has played the second game have a suggestion for my dilemma? Namely, SPOILER: Yes, obviously the vase should read "Ami" instead of "I Am", but what evidence am I supposed to present to support that!?

Answer: In the second game you can present profiles as evidence, not just items. So I believe you must present the profile of Ami Fey at this moment if I recall correctly.

I really, really enjoyed the first one, but the second one to me just seemed to drag on. About halfway through the third case the Circus just started getting on my nerves, and the final case was just boring... an inordinate amount of text as compared to other cases.
I'll probably still pick up the third game if it gets a release though. I'm such a whore.

Grumble. Nothing quite ruins a good game (or computer program for that matter) like a less-than-entirely-intuitive interface.

Doesn't need to be intuitive. I think they explained that you can present profiles in the very first case of the second game.

You know what? I pre-ordered the original Phoenix Wright back in the day, with the t-shirt and got a bunch of the promo stylii and whatever else came in that pack.
And then I let the game sit there. For several years. Just got too busy - there were the Castlevania games, and some PS2 / GameCube games, and all that sort of stuff.
So this past week, tired of reading some of the gritty cyberpunk stuff and not really feeling up to dealing with some of the last few short stories of the "I Am Legend" collection (they're all sort of depressing), I decided I'd pick this up for some light bedtime fare. And man - am I hooked.
Wright's snarky comments (ones he says out loud and ones he keeps to himself), Maya's girlish enthusiasm, Mia's capable and sometimes coquettish demeanor, Gumshoe's well-meaning bungling - the whole thing has great character development; you really start to care a bit about the players. On top of that, most of the cases tend to really require you to pay careful attention - figuring out the gaps and holes in the logic of the witnesses to get at the truth makes for a pretty compelling game. I can't believe I'm enjoying this linear plot as much as I am - I'm generally way more in favor of the sandbox games.
But this one's well worth picking up. I'm going to have to pick up all the sequels as well as some of the other supposedly-similar games like Hotel Dusk as well.

Love the series, haven't played the new one yet though.
