I finally got my 360 online this weekend. My offline gamertag was already in use, so I made a new tag to register with Live. Well, I then realized I'd like my offline gamertag to be the same as my online one.

So I deleted the new Live gamertag. Then I changed my offline one to the new one -- wouldn't connect, said the ID was already in use (yeah, I just created it). I decided to recover my online gamertag, which worked --- but clobbered my offline gamertag, rather than combining the two.

I don't care about the achievements, but i really care about the lost game saves. Any ideas on how to recover it, or if I can recover it?

Thanks!

You will have to change your offline gamertag to a new name (unfortunately it will have to be different that the new one you just created) then connect and create the new account. If you do it in that order, you should have no problem.

Problem is my offline gametag has now completely disappeared, even though I didn't delete it.

I think I am just screwed. Guess I should invest in a memory card!!!
