C64 is one of the very few systems that natively output RGB. You need a monitor and cables. Simple as shit. Joe (DP) sells the C64 monitors, iirc. Not sure if he ships, though.

Based on every pinout & schematic I've seen, the VIC only outputs Y/C natively. NO RGB.

The C128 has a digital RGB connection, but it only works with RGB monitors that accept that type of input. A 128 in 64 mode still only outputs Y/C at best.

Hmmm, news to me. I thought Commodore always made thier RGB monitors specifically for the C64. Aren't the RGB connectors just BNC connectors? Lot's of old RGB monitors took those, iirc.

You're thinking of the Commodore Amigas which used Analog RGB output. The connector used was a Parallel-type connector, not BNC.

C=128 used CGA for its 16-color 80-column mode. C=64 used Composite (early models) or S-video (later models).

I'm disappointed to hear I can't get RGB out of my C=64 but not surprised. I guess S-video is good enough for lo-definition 320x200 gaming.
