Has this game been resealed?

I bought this game off of eBay and to me it looks a little suspicious. I'm certainly no expert on sealed games, so I'm hoping for some help here.

The horizontal seam on the back of the box doesn't appear to go exactly through the middle. As for the rest, well, it just looks like a somewhat shoddy job for something that is supposedly factory sealed.

I don't think it's a re-seal i'm looking at 2 Zelda Minish caps that i bought at Game rush and one of them looks like a perfect seal and the other is a little imperfect

I worked at a gamecrazy a year 1/2 back. We resealed games and put them on the shelf ourselves and it looked...actually better than that. Idea is, that's more likely than not, a reseal.

I don't know i'd keep checking on this topic for an update from someone with a little more experience. To Elimin, did you guys reseal in the same fashion Nintendo seals games, with the same patterns, or was it just a seal on the sides?

I'm having a hard time leaning either way. I say it's still up in the air. Are there tiny holes in the front of the shrinkwrap in a neat pattern?

Is there a huge diffenance in value if the game is 100% complete and if it is sealed? It is pretty new game, why would someone go through the whole ordeal of getting it sealed when it may not change the value too much?

Yes there can be. With dirt common and junk games there isn't, but if a game is rare and or sought after, the price can be well over 2 times as much. It varies tremendously though, and there is no standard to go by other than what things sell for on average here and on ebay.

Nope. There's no holes anywhere to be found.

If this is legit, that's one sloppy seal job. I have seen better reseals better than that. I think this is a reseal but I can't be certain as there are different types of seals for different systems, companies, etc. I only collect sealed games for the NES. But you got my .02.

Cheapo looking seals. You can definitely tell the difference between a factory sealed game and our reseals. We only resealed them because they were brand new, but our policy "Try it before you buy it", someone asked to try out that game and we didn't have any used copies, so we opened the new one, and they didn't want it, so we resealed it. We also resealed because on rare ocassions, games would get REALLY screwed up during shipping and the plastic was utterly destroyed (damn you fedex).

Well, I decided to open the game up and at first glance it really did appear to be brand-new. The cartridge was in it's little baggie and there was the instructions and health and safety booklet (I don't know if there should be any other inserts).

Unfortunately when I took a closer look at the cartridge I noticed that there were marks on the back from what could only be from the game being slide in and out of a Game Boy numerous times. There's just no way it should look like that.

I won't bother mentioning the seller, but anyone that does some detective work can figure it out using eBay's completed listing search.

Edit - I presume there should have been a Nintendo Power subscription insert in the box, but there wasn't.

I have bought brand new GBA games from retail before and they looked like they had been inserted a few times (probably for quality control at the factory) before I even used them once. Make sure what you're seeing is more than normal wear and tear before coming to a conclusion.
