Just wondering, like the title says. I'll be selling off my NES/SNES/N64 completes here in the coming weeks, and was just wondering the safest and cheapest way to get them to their destination. Nothing pisses me off more than spending $ on a NES game complete in box, then having it show up on my doorstep crushed beyond repair. So I'd like to spare the peeps that buy from me the same feeling.

I know I can do the USPS priority in a box for like $4 bucks + change, but ugh that just costs too damn much. I was thinking maybe using generic cardboard boxes and shipping 1st class, but then once you add up the weight of the game + box + packing materials, it's still going to come out to like $3+. Then when you add up the time and effort of finding good boxes, its almost not worth it...

Or I could do like most of my eBay purchases for boxed NES games, shove it in an unpadded envelope and put it in the mailbox  Anyone have any info or ProTips! on getting these things outta here safe and sound without paying more for shipping that the item sold for? Thanks!

I believe I once shipped 2 CIB NES games wrapped in a double layer of bubble wrap, inside of a padded envelope, and they got there just fine. Had to pay for Priority, though, as they were over the 13 oz. 1st-class limit...

$4 is awesome when compared to Canadian standards... It costs me $6.50 to ship an snes game in a padded envelope via airmail to USA. It costs me even more to ship within my own country! You guys are lucky to have such great rates, AND free supplies when you go priority.

I'd say go priority, your not paying for shipping anyways, the buyer is. I haven't had much trouble selling my games, and i charge $6.50 for shipping (yeah i loose on shipping), so $4 shouldn't hurt your sales.

really imo, Priority mail is the cheapest , and best way to do it. 4.05 is pretty damn cheap, especially since you can get the boxes for free.

Exactly. This is what I do, with Priority Video Mailers. Works every time.

Point taken, but most buyers judge their bid based on total price (including shipping), so cheaper shipping methods do usually benefit the seller.

If it were just the box, you could flatten and send in one of those stiff envelopes (like they have for flat rate priority). With the game I bet your cheapest safe method is the box sandwiched between cardboard and send it all in a bubble mailer, as someone mentioned above. You might be able to box it and still come under 13oz for 1st class mail, and if so that wouldn't be a bad way to go either.
