View Full Version : Does DOA3 have any additional content in the Platinum Hits version?

I was at the store today, about to pick up an original black/green copy of DOA3, when I realized that the box art had been changed for the Platinum Hits re-release.
I personally love to buy the GH or Platinum version of a game if it has additional content, like on Silent Hill 2 for PS2. The box art variant left me wondering if DOA3 was one of those games with new stuff added. I decided to hold off on buying the game until I was sure.
EDIT: Is this classic? The original release was 6 years ago :O

The platnum version == the original. The only additional content out there is from some bonus disc (i want to say it was an OXM disc). It's the same stuff you can unlock off of DOA:U

Prog is correct. There are some extra outfits that are available on I believe OXM 6 and 7 (same stuff, just mutiple discs) but otherwise the Platinum hits is exactly the same (minus the cover art).

It's too bad they didn't add the bonus content or the gameplay changes that were made to the japan version.

interesting, i didnt know about the OXM stuff, ill track that down, i love that game.
is there a list somehwere when i can see which games had changes (hopefully positive) in the platinum hits versions.
i know about fable and midnight club 3

If you own DOA 2 Ultimate, just get 100 wins in Survival mode and it'll unlock the same stuff in your DOA 3 save. Plus, that works on the Xbox 360 unlike the OXM discs.

If you connect the USB keyboard, and you type in "LIST", you can view the program code. Edit line 10100 so instead of CLOTHES=1 it says CLOTHES=0. Type RUN. Now you can see the ladies au naturale.

If you own DOA 2 Ultimate, just get 100 wins in Survival mode and it'll unlock the same stuff in your DOA 3 save. Plus, that works on the Xbox 360 unlike the OXM discs.
Dear god you're a sadist. Oh wait. DOAU had an Easy survial mode compared to DOA4 (Nightmares).
But actually you're wrong. There are two ways to unlock the booster content on DOAU.
Unlock every Costume for every character including unlockables (About 15-20 hours, depending on skill level)
Complete the collection by picking up all items dropped in Survival mode.
