Hi, i was just wondering if the Art of Fighting 3 game worth 300$ on the Neo Geo is on Cd or if its on a big cart. And also does the MVS system mean that its big carts like vhs tapes or not. I dont know much about neo geo and if anyone could clarify a little i would appreciate it.

Thank you

MVS is the arcade cart. To play it on an AES (home neo) you'll need an adapter ,which runs around $200. That game is definitely on cart.

There's a NeoGeo CD version too, of course.

AOF1 isn't worth very much... I imagine it's worth less than $50 by now. Probably less.

Hi, You may want to check out the www.neo-geo.com forums for all your neo related questions.

To answer your questions the Art of Fighting 3: The path of the Warrior was indeed released for the neo geo CD console, the home cart console, and was released in the arcades.

If you plan on getting into neo geo do not get into the cd system at first. Some of those games take 45 seconds to load a match. And art of fighting 3 has a pretty hefty load time in between every fight.

So basically have 3 options when playing the neo. CD system, Home system, which is also called AES (advanced entertainment system). Refers to the home based console with the large VHS style games you are referring to. And MVS (multi video system), which refers to the arcade cartridges taken directly out of a arcade cabinet. People use a home made system called a "supergun" to play these games on there home television sets.

MVS collecting is the cheapest way to get arcade quality games on your tv for a cheap price. You can get Art of Fighting 3 for around $25 if you buy it in MVS format. And it is the EXACT same game as the homecart one except it looks different in outside appearance. There are no flashy cases, labels, or manuals for the games. Which is why they are so cheap. That and that arcade distributers want to get rid of them.

The only way to go when collecting neo is the MVS. The home games are way to expensive for the average collector, and the cd system is just to much of a hassle with the loading times.

There is a small downside however, getting a decent setup will cost about $400 as opposed to getting a home system for $200 or a cd system for $100. However the MVS system has EVERY neo geo game ever released on it. Except for like 5 games that were released on the CD system. The cd system is missing alot of games that were released on the AES and MVS systems. Games you will want to own for sure.

In addition, you can get MVS carts and play the games in homecart mode or mvs mode with a nice litle invention called a Universe Bios Chip. All you need to install one is a flat head screwdriver.

So get on ebay and look up "neo geo mvs" "neo geo aes" and "neo geo cd". Just save your money and get a mvs setup. Don't be in a hurry to play the neo and buy a homecart system or a cd system. What will happen is you will end up selling it all to get a mvs system.
