So I recently got these two games from a friend of mine, and he said Catan was never released and only 10 were made or something like that.

Games and Case (http://www.geocities.com/igothelp/IMG_1780.JPG)
Both games (http://www.geocities.com/igothelp/IMG_1783.JPG)

First one is Rifts: Promise of Power. One the case it says "Gold Master Review Kit", and has a yellow strip on the game. One the actually cart is says:

Rifts: Promise of Power
09085521prd
G3.0 MSK32ROM-SA
10245AD0001

Second is Catan. It has an orange strip on the game. No box, apparently he got it as a test game or something, I'm not really sure. The cart says:

Catan
ver 042850.9.03
G2.0 MSK32ROM
05045BV0122

I'm mainly not sure if these are dev. games or what. I also have not seen Catan on a "master list" of N-Gage games when I've done a google search for them. Just wondering what these are, and if anyone has some info on them.

According to this list (http://www.n-gage.com/en-R1/games/all_games/) Catan should be available.

So that list says, cool. Like I said, I wasn't really sure, thanks for the info.

Both games are on that list as available. Some Ngage games were only available via website and don't come up for sale as often on the secondary market.

Congratulations! That version of Catan you've got is a beta release. (0.9.03, final is 1.0.28) Should be quite rare and worth a few bucks.

Are released Ngage protos worth something these days? I was under the impression they weren't worth much.

Probably not worth a fortune, but a bit more than the retail version. Provided that you find someone who's interested in it, of course. Too bad he's not selling them, I would take them gladly.

Well thats the problem the retail games sell for a buck or two.

I don't see why that is a problem. Finally a system where everybody can afford a proto :)

Catan is one of the more expensive games, by the way.

If you are the buyer then sure there is no problem at all.

Lol, ok not bad considering the 'popularity' of the N-GAGE. I probably would've payed
up to $50. Now, Saturn stuff, that's another story. *nudge*

I guess someone was just crazy and wanted to have the game no matter of the price. Virtua Cop normally goes for 60-100$.
