Ok I'm at a bit of a moral debate. I have a friend who recently moved in with me, but he likes to pawn stuff. stuff that isn't necessarily his. so I buy alot of my games and systems from pawn shops and since there's only two in town I'm bound to buy some stuff that he pawned. Well after I buy it he seems to think it was more like I got it out for him rather than I bought it. So I went out and got the biggest lock I could for my game cabinet. Do yall think this is wrong? Oh and does the guncon 2 work for the PSX?

not sure about the gun, but if he was into my stuff i would 1.)kick his ass, 2.)throw him out my house, 3.)kick his ass again!

If I was living someone the first thing they would have to know is not to screw around with my collection or my PC.
If I was living with someone, the second thing I would do is by the biggest lock for my door.
Seriously though...If you can't trust the person you are living with, why are you living with them?
If he pawns stuff that isn't his (i.e. steals your shit to buy crack), then the real question is why are you living with him?

Limed for great justice.
Seriously though, I wouldn't be living with him if he's known to pawn shit thats not his. o_O

Kick his ass to the curb, and tell him, "Get help or get a new place to live!" That's what I'd do.

The guy has got to go. If you cant trust him around your stuff you will always be worrying about it.

By the way, have you tried telling him not to pawn your things?

Why would you live with someone who steals your shit? Lock your shit up, and lock him OUT.

Isn't there another thread here about a former member who tried to help some people who had obvious problems. And he ended up dead for his efforts.
Sometimes people have to learn to help themselves before anyone else should offer them help.

If I were him, I'd be afraid to attempt to kick the guy out, because he'd steal all my stuff and take it to the pawn shop just to be a dick.

That's not much of a moral debate.
The more interesting moral dilemma here is that if this "friend" of yours steals things from somoene and then sells them to this pawn shop in town and then you go and buy the things from the pawn shop, do you bear some culpability for the original theft?

Is he your lover? Is that why you live with him?

I have a mate staying in my spare room who's gay. It's great tbh; I haven't had to clean the bathroom or kitchen in 5 months as it's constantly clean. He's a damn good chef too and a computer genius.
He's picked up the rules quite quickly too:
1 - Don't speak to me before I've had a smoke and a cuppa in the morning unless you want to be told where exactly to f-off to. I'm not a morning person!
2 - We look with our eyes, not with our hands. i.e - touch the NeoGeo / Dreamcast games and there'll be trouble. That said, he's up for Last Blade sessions.

Yeah, a roommate who steals yer' crap is way not cool. I'd at first talk to him directly about him not touching your stuff and to cover your own butt, just make sure you have a list of everything you own, just in case stuff comes up missing.

If I were you this is what I would do. Leave a couple of games that you know are pawnable that you really don't like that well out in the open. Leave it as sort of a test day after day. When the moment comes where these games you don't really care for are stolen then you have a legit reason to kick him out

kick his ass out, and then just kick his ass.

I don't know how things work in Texas, but here in MA and NH, you have to provide all your information to a pawn shop in order to pawn. If something comes up stolen (pawn shops provide information to cops, they check to see if stolen, I think they're supposed to do it with everything), they know who to go to. See if it's the same in TX, and then when you find something missing report it and tell them you suspect he's done it before.
EDIT: Then kick his ass to the curb before he has a chance to kill you and torch your body.
