Already installed on both my PSP! I love it, Dark Alex brings the magic then it's repacked into an EZauto Installer for noobs or people like me who just want to save time! Good stuff.

I updated to 3.30 OE-A' a few weeks ago but going to hold off on 3.40 until a update is released. I heard certain parts of it are still buggy and it doesn't really improve upon 3.30 OE anyway.

not really true 3.40 fixes bugs in 3.30 and 3.03 just changes POPS

3.30 OE-A' came out the same day as 3.40 OE-A, so unless you're DA himself you couldn't have done it a few weeks ago! :)

I've heard conflicting rumours about whether or not 3.40 OE-A makes FF8 or RE2 playable. Some say it did. Some say it didn't. Neither are on my PSP so I can't comment.

I have been able to load all my games. After loading a PSX game it asks you to reformat your save. I think they did this so that the game saves will work on the PS3 as well as the PSP.

I have heard that GTA isos don't work.

I think part of the problem people have with isos comes from the fact that they've downloaded them and didn't rip them themselves. Guys who rip games and offer 'em up for download usually tinker with them to make them smaller. Personally I like supporting the system by buying the games, but then I have to rip them as isos so that I can have more than one ready to play and have it load faster once it does. I generally hate downloading stuff though.

Well, I updated to 3.30 OE-A a few weeks ago but did the OE-A' update a couple days ago. That's what I meant to say.

What I've heard is that some people can't change the configuration settings. And there's some stuff that worked on the PS1 emulator in 3.30 but won't run in 3.40 OE-A.

I've read the same sorts of things, but experienced no similar problems personally. My background is still the lovely Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux :)

Hmm...I'm about to head out to Valencia this week on vacation, and wouldn't mind taking some psp and final fantasy tactics with me! I would also really like to find megaman x or powered up as well, but don't know if I'll have the time today. I think I'll be picking up this update.

Where can I get the auto installer for 3.4OEa? I currently have 3.03OEb...will it auto update from that?

Yes, but that doesn't appear to be the auto updater, just the manual one.

Whenever I tried to run the manual one on prvious versions, it just didn't work for some reason.

Check if it's "installing" the application to the \PSP\GAME folder. If it is,that's wrong. It should be put into the \PSP\GAME150 folder. That'll fix it.

I'm not sure why all these auto updates from psp-hacks insist on copy the stuff to the \game folder.. go figure.

Here you go. This is the same one I use every update:

What's wrong with installing and running the update from the PSP\GAME (as opposed to \GAME150) folder? I use these easy installers all the time and never had any problems doing it that way.

Huh? What do you call the thing in the link I posted to then?

I guess its understandable how you got confused. The link you provided is the exact link on psp-hacks.com. In fact you posted a link to that sites forum page. There is only one program that can update your psp to 3.40OE and it is made by DA of course. That is not an auto updater. An auto updater for example is the updater from 3.30-3.30' thats an auto updater.:wink 2:

Yeah but didn't you say you set your PSP to a 1.5 kernel mode or something like that? The way it is by default, is apps for version 1.5 have to be explicitely put into the GAME150 folder... unless you change your PSP to always run in 1.5 kernal mode, then that's a different story. :)

Ok, I'm confused as shit now.

The short answer is that nobody has released an "easy installer" as yet. The only way to install 3.40 OE-A is to download it from PSP-hacks, run OEUPDMAKER, move the data.dxar into the proper directory, and then run the firmware update.

It's not that difficult of a process if you read the 'readme.txt' that DA supplies with the software. Nervewracking, yes. Difficult, no.

Okay, now I'm really fucking confused here. If nobody released an "easy installer" yet, then what's in that link I posted earlier?:

I understand what the difference between an updater and easy installer is now, but if you don't want to do the 3.40 OE manual install, this is what you use to get the files in the right places on your PSP, right?

Yeah.. I don't know what you're talking about as the easy installer is right there. You don't have to move any data.dxar into any directory..ever.

Every single update on my PSP I've used the easy installers from psp-hacks :P

My apologies are definitely in order. I hadn't seen any easy installers in my surfing so I didn't think any were out yet (and I didn't visit the link until now). The lesson, as always, I'm an idiot :)
