I was told that not all NES games released in the States were factory sealed but I had a hard time finding a complete list that says which were and which weren't. I was able to find lists of licensed games but not sure if that meant that unlicensed ones were not sealed. Can anyone give me their 2 cents on this? Better still, can I have a complete list of NES games that were factory sealed when released?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they were all factory sealed.
Maybe not the NWC though :bday:

Do you just mean the licensed ones or even the unlicensed ones?

I think all the unlicensed ones were sealed. You see sealed copies of the unlicensed games pop up every now and then (like the sealed King Neptune's Adventure that was just sold). As we were talking about in a recent thread, even the Panesians were sealed, and a few still remain sealed in collector's hands.

Are you sure the Panesians were sealed? I was trying to look for info on Taiwanese chinese website about those games but nothing turned up.

Do you know the chinese name (in chinese character) of the Panesian and/or Sachen company?

I was pretty sure that the Teng Shen Sachen were not sealed, though I could possibly be wrong.

Sachens are NOT sealed. Any sealed Sachen that you see on ebay has been resealed. Every licensed and unlicensed game including the Panesians were sealed.

Well, there were apparently some sachen games sealed, such as this one below

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110100163671

its foreign, but it IS sealed. the traditional 72 pin sachen games, though, do not have seals.

Also, yes the panesians were "factory sealed" with very flimsy cheap plastic.

I saw that auction. There have been other Sachens that have popped up sealed as well. I guarantee that these were resealed by some shop or person that bought them and wanted to preserve them. You can't buy them from Sachen like that.

The Panesians were definitely sealed. We were talking about it in a recent thread, HERE (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99714).

And just for some more proof, here is a picture of my sealed Hot Slots:

i semi agree. its kind of odd though that it has the micro genius sticker. perhaps they were working together and micro genius released the game. very odd too though that sachen and micro genius did have releases of galactic crusader.

True. That part is strangely odd. I'm not sure what to make of it yet. But Sachen didn't waste the money or time to shrinkwrap their games. They have sold hundreds of games to people with none of them being sealed. Why would they take the time to seal just a few and not the rest? Doesn't make sense. I guess we can all believe what we want but that's what I stand by. Sachens are not sealed games but rather reseals.
