Kotomi, the French mod master we've featured many times on DS Fanboy has finally turned his sights onto the Wii, and the result is beautiful to behold. Forget the Virtual Console -- you can just snap your old SNES carts right in there and throw down. All you need is a classic controller and a lot of extra time. Kotomi has been working on this mod since February, and it was originally planned as an NES mod, but along the way, he gave in to the pervasive allure of the Super NES.

I'll let this pic do the talking (Sorry if it's too big!):

That is extremely cool. Such a great, original idea, but I have to say this.... out of sheer simplicity, wouldn't it be easier to just buy a used SNES/Super Famicom and hook it up instead? I mean, it's going to take so much time to mod your Wii, not to mention that a lot of people probably don't have the skills or aptitude to even take on a huge hardware modification like that.
I personally, wouldn't even try. Not that I'm afraid to, but I have two SNES consoles in storage, so what would be the point? :P
One more thing, virtual console? Don't need that either. I have all those original systems (just like most other collectors here on DP). ^_^

I'd be impressed if it could actually play Wii and Snes games together

Sure, it'd be easier to hook up the SNES. However, some people like to do things "the hard way" ;) That and someone needs to try it to see if (and how) it can be done.
