So as not to further derail Capt. Wrong's Little Britain thread.

I preordered this last weekend, and they said end of February. But a glance at Gamestop and EBGames' websites gives the release date as April 2nd. I HOPE this is the last delay. This and SSB Brawl are practically the only games I'm really looking forward to this year. Well, and Guitar Hero 3 whenever that's announced.

So, who wants WiFi? Who wants to form a DP league if we get WiFi? :D

It is a totally new game, in the style of the old game. But if you looks at pictures, quite a bit has changed.

I would have to say CFC for NGPC is the greatest game of all time. So I can't wait for this one, but I'll be surprised if it doesn't get another delay.

I just finished the snk version of the game not that long ago on my NGPC. I'm gonna be all over the DS version especially if there is wifi.

I read reviews about the NGPC version years ago. Sounded like a fun game so I might pick up the DS version... if it gets released this year.

Not to derail the the thread, but the Marvel Comics CCG is also being brought to the DS. I've never played either, but am looking forward to both.

I'm the type who loves the computer versions of various CCG's, but as an adult the idea of buying packs of cards and attempting to find people to play against is a level of geekdom i am simply unwilling to descend into. :)

Hopefully if there's a delay, they're going to fix the fatal flaw where you can win everytime if you go first.

GOD DAMNIT!!!!! Why does everything have to look so grim for this game. I had such high hopes. Even though I'll still buy this game...I'll be immensely dissapointed if they do not fix that problem. Also dissapointed for no WIFI but I can live with that. If I can go through the entire game without trying I will be so pissed.

This title may be reason enough for me to finally get a ds, CFC on ngpc is one of my favorite games of all times... for those of you who haven't already, you should play the translated sequal...it may actually be better than the first with a lot of new elements which really balance the game out.

If a game that has Phoenix Wright cards ultimately turns out to be sucky, I will turn from agnostic to atheist.

Now don't hold me to that, but I will be seriously cheesed off if it ultimately falls flat on its face. Though... I guess if I wanted to be positive and find an upside, it would be that this game is like digital crack, and if it were to be released in America and be really awesome... I may never play another video game that isn't CFC DS for as long as I live. o_O

In all seriousness, I hope it A. gets over here, and B. is improved.

Dude, it's SNK Playmore...of course they didn't alter it. The only reason it probably took so long was to get their 2 stooges to get up and translate it. Anyways, yeah..got a call last night..will be going to pick it up today hopefully.

I picked this up today on my break but I haven't had a chance to play more than once match, but I will say that the story absolutely blows. I'm talking sub-Pokemon storyline here. The card art is pretty spectacular, but SNK really needs to break down and get a fucking proofreader. I've already run into a misuse of "your" where "you're" was supposed to be, and the victory screen when you win a battle says "Congratulation!" Plus the confusing dialogue lends credibility to my suspicion that their translators aren't native English speakers. One other thing that's bothering me so far is that you can't walk around RPG-style like you could in the first, you basically pick circles on the bottom screen that represent opponents/places and it does a quick-n-dirty little animation of you walking over. The basics of the gameplay have become a touch more detailed with the introduction of different colors, but I'll need more than the match I've had so far to determine whether or not that's a good thing.

Here's hoping the battles themselves stay interesting, because the aesthetics here get a failing grade.

EDIT: Forgot one other gripe; when you pick your 'face' in the beginning, be sure to do it with the D-pad as opposed to the touch screen, as using the touch screen results in picking the wrong face. Not a major deal, but it's still sloppy as hell and should have been caught in testing.

The game is garbage too. My very first fight, I went second, and got hit for half health before I could even touch my screen.

Broken as hell.

I knew it would be, but kind of hoped it wouldn't be as bad as I had read. Or that the game would be charming enough to overcome it. It's not. It's worse. The story will cripple your brain if you're over the age of 5.

How SNK Playmore managed to screw up one of the most beloved handheld games among fans is beyond me.

here's a glitch I found out from neo-geo.com

on the 9th floor (the floor with the first deck restrictions), there's card fighter named john. if you talk to him after you beat him the game freezes.

what's the damage? apparently you can't go through a new game+ because of this glitch (you have to fight him again with him using the glitched dialogue), and it also means no complete card set.

kinda sucks when you think about it, hopefully SNK/P will issue some sort of recall or something.

I just got the game in the mail, played into the first match and turned it off. I'm not impressed with the story, "adventure" mode and a few other things; however I do like the cards, playing field and flow of the matches thus far. I'm hoping to see what's up and if there will be a recall as I would like to complete the game and have some of these translations fixed.

It's a shame SNK's definition of "fanservice" doesn't include "fixing ridiculously broken games". They could pull a Codemasters and send anyone who complains a fixed version, but...I highly doubt this. I was actually looking forward to this, but now it seems the only good thing is the card art, which can be seen without even buying the game.

Anyone taking bets on how long before SNK just starts exclusively making mobile dating sims?

Tell me about it. Matches seem to devolve into a slapping match. I find having a bunch of cheap characters in my deck and swamping the playfield with them as quickly as possible tends to beat the majority of the game's A.I.

Outside of the card game, this entire cart is just sloppy as hell. I'm not sure what to call the thing that sits underneath the card game. Whatever it is trying to be, it is poorly designed. Where did the charming little "RPG" style game go from the original? Then there is the localization. Apart from the occasional grammar screw up ("Expart pack"?!?! Repeating chunks of a sentence), some of the language used on cards seems inconsistent and confusing.

Then the glitch. Was Q/A out sick this year?

Much disappointed is me. :(

It's nice we'll get replacements for the glitches but that doesn't change the moving around elements and horrible translation. It's a real shame this happened and I really hope SNK can do something in the future that's better for the DS followers.

Did anyone else get stuck at the 7th floor(Capcom side after forced switch from SNK, where i started). because I am stuck and can't seem to get the card I need to get past it. I need SNK Hayate according to the boss and give it to her to get past. And I must have played an extra 15 matches or so now just to get money to buy packs so i can get it, but haven't gotten it yet.

Any help is appreciated.

you can try your luck at buying packs to get hayate or you can trade for it. on one of the lower trading floors you can trade one of the people for hayate.

A quick question for people that have already recieved carts back: are there any indicators if a cart is the fixed version or not? I know for bubble bobble DS codemasters added a -1 to the end of the product code.

The background and on the fixed cart is black and white. Don't have the old product code to check the box.

I doubt that fixed copies will ever show up in stores. Like Bubble Bobble rev. , this is a niche title, and most stores won't order a second shipment.

Bubble Bobble did get the fixed carts shipped to store...I have both. But you might be right about Card Fighters. I might have to buy a second copy just to mail it in for the fixed version.

Really? Which store carried the fixed Bubble Bobble? Buying two broken copies of BB turned out to be the best way to go, since you got a free copy of Rainbow Islands when you sent in Bubble Bobble.
