When I try to run Snk vs Capcom using the NEo Rage emulator (pc), I get two black horizontal stripes across the screen. The game freezes but the music plays on in the background. What's going on? I've included a screenshot.

One more question. I'm new to the neo geo. Can you pull out arcade carts from any arcade machine and play it on the neo geo?

The best way to solve the Neo RAGE problem is to buy a Neo Geo and a SvC cartridge. :D Seriously, Neo RAGE is out the door, man. Use Kawaks or Final Burn.

No, the Neo Geo console (AES) only plays Neo Geo AES cartridges. An MVS cabinet isn't completely JAMMA compatible, the controls are different and there's no.... I think it's -5V? But still, an MVS board only uses MVS cartridges, so no STV or CPS2 for you!

That isn't entirely true. There are MVS to AES coverters. They're expensive, but they're out there.

For any MVS carts, yes. As long as you are using an MVS cabinet or an MVS board that has been "consolized" to play on a regular TV, you can use those carts on any MVS board. The home cart system is referred to as the AES, and the carts from one can not be used in another without the aforementioned MVS-AES adapter.

There exists extensive information over at www.neo-geo.com. Take a look in the FAQ sections and search the forums. I'm sure you'll find answers to any questions you could possibly think of there when it comes to the Neo.

Word of advice, make sure you search well for the answer to your question before simply posting it up. They don't take well to new users who post questions without using the search or reading existing documentation.

And, do try to stay out of the drama.

And leave emulation out of it. Neo-Geo will tear your ass up if you mention t3h r0mZ.
