But keep your eyes peeled to ESPN during the NFL draft, this weekend. That's when the game will make it's debut.

It's certainly not going to be Vietnam. A 40 yr old war isn't exactly "modern warfare" as mentioned in the games title. I also doubt it's Iraq...no game company is going to touch that one for a few years.

My guess is the enemy will be some generic "Middle Eastern" country ala Battlefield 2.

, good call 8-bit. I live in Dallas and most people I know here are good people and are not Arab-hating hicks. I have family in Maryland and there are just as many haters up there FYI. Stupid people live everywhere.

Back on topic, I haven't even played CoD3 yet much less want more of the same. I almost, almost, bought it for PS3 yesterday but I couldn't bring myself to play another one of these games

Actually given Call of Duty's multi-cultural backgroung you're either going to be looking at Afganistan, or several different armed conflicts around the world. Possibly some in Africa. Although i don't see them doing that and keeping it T rated. I mean what with all the child soldiers and all.

I've heard Infinity Ward is indeed doing this one if so than it should be excellent. Call of Duty 1 and 2 were two of the finest FPS games around.

Call of Duty 3 was by Treyarch so the game wasn't really that good, they redid the multiplayer and made it a buggy class based mess. If you play Call of Duty 2 online it's pretty much flawless.

I think its not a stereotype to say that people in the south generally enjoy Deer Hunting games more, is it? I could take it well beyond that but I'm in no mood to argue.

I do agree about stupid people living everywhere. The only problem is I keep running into them---all the time. And, I've also lived in the south. Needless to say, not my thing. South Carolina didn't do a good job of making me think differently...but that IS South Carolina.

I hear ya but the south isn't bad at all in the major cities. I like Dallas especially.

I got the game when it was first released and couldn't connect to any online games. I'd just sit in the lobby and nobody would show up. When I tried to join matches, I'd get 'timed-out' message 100% of the time.

Tried 3 different routers too but that didn't help any. Tons of other people had the same problem as well. It was just a broken mess so I ended up trading it for Oblivion.

I was really hoping that they were going to go back in time with this one. I think that the Civil War would make a great setting for the Call of Duty franchise. I'll be watching the draft, so I'll be eager to see what theater of operation they set the new game in.

Anyone see this? There is a video on Youtube somewhere. I will let someone else post a link. =) Its called CoD 4 Modern Warfare and looks too much like Ghost Recon and those types of games. I completely lost interest in the game once I saw the video.

all these fps war games are getting old.im tired of playing them.of course i dont play online,just the single player.maybe thats why im tired of fps war games.the only one i can say i have enjoyed playing is gears of war,and old school stuff like doom,etc.

The trailer was released on Saturday (April 28).

Based on the scenes in the trailer, the enemy is some rogue terrorist outfit. The "bad guys" are obviously not Middle Eastern...which isn't too surprising considering the PC world we live in. Somehow they steal (or try to steal) Russian nuclear weapons. The locations look pretty varied but look like they could all be encompassed into the former Soviet Union territory.
