Well, judging by today's comic and comments, the Penny Arcade guys sure seem to love it.
Just moved to the top of my want list
Crazy.
Valkyrie Profile + Guardian Heroes = Odin Sphere
Atlus made a game like this on saturn. It's called Princess Crown. It has a Jp psp release too.

Yeah, Odin Sphere is sort of an unofficial sequel to Princess Crown.
This game looks awesome, The more I see of it the more I want it.
Here is the official trailer for the game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaOwyYZe7w8
This game looks gorgeous. I am just afraid that this will be the last great 2D game on home consoles.
SEGA!
I thoroughly enjoyed and loved Princess Crown on the Saturn. It still has some of the most beautiful2D graphics and animation around. I've already pre-ordered Odin Sphere and I'm counting down the days....
was that the Burger King king at the end there?
That it is and i'm looking forward to, Odin Sphere myself as well.
2D art work looks pretty sweet to me.
I've watch the english trailer for it at atlus day one purchase to me.

I just saw over in the May 2007 Finds thread in Classic Gaming that a lot of people are pre-ordering this game; it was the first I've heard of it. Funny, because earlier today, I first heard about Grim Grimoire (I learned of that one from Hardcore Gamer, not here), which the same people are making and also looks cool. I'm really broke, and there are a lot of games like this that look cool and might be hard to track down in the future coming out in the next few months. I wonder what I'm going to do... Sell some shit on eBay, I guess.
Feedback thread here
MSRP on Odin Sphere appears to be 39.99. I was fully expecting ~$50. Might not be alot less but, when your broke, every bit helps.

Wow, I was planning on buying this game regardless of score cause I think this is an important genre to support especially on home consoles, but damn it already got a 10/10 from one reviewer http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/936463.asp.
Anyone have a scan or link to this review?
This the second game to the Princess Crown series. Princess Crown is basically a 2d pangea rpg that at the time followed the Slayers band wagon Japanese RPG. The gameplay is simular to those Western D&D arcade game but like I said
Japanese.
It was sappose to be a Dreamcast game but they decided to make it for the PS2.
I believe that if we was to mail the people at Game Arts and tell them to make it for Dreamcast we could be seeing a major game. Otherwise don't get the game at all.
It is a Dreamcast game on the PS2 like Ecco or Shenmue II on X-Box. A complete waste of money.
The atmosphere of the game itself is like Inuyasha or for the 80's anime fan Hamlien. I mean come on great the deamons are being released and Crown is in a sleep and everybody shows there age.
I own a copy of Princess Crown and played it very thru. I am very familiar with roleplaying games and I am not saying this game is bad I am saying it is a waste of money to buy it on a PS2.
It is going to be great and going to be spectacular but when you think about it it is not really it's more like It is going to be like the transition of Rumiko Takahashi works over the years.
Most RPG games on the PS2 sucks anyways why not this one. Look what they did to Inyuasha RPG. That has to be the worst game ever created on the face of the earth using N64 effects and models.
Just don't jump for joy yet when you purchase this game.
This review is by the same guy who gave Sonic the Hedgehog on 360 an 8.5/10.
That said, I've had a preorder paid in full on this for a couple months now, and can't wait for it to ship next week. Though, considering how much buzz there is around this game I would't be so absolutely sure it'll be hard to find in the future. Even if it is an Atlus release.
