It's irrelevant what the history is here. It's a promo for a fictional video game. The game doesn't deal with the subject matter. It's senseless killing.

It does matter. The game is set in ancient Greece. What happened in ancient greece is important, especially for promotion. You wouldn't promote a roman product with out gladiators would you? Except they can't kill each other because that's illegal. Getting a goat froma butcher isn't.

Distasteful...but your headline, "Sony kills goat for God of War II promo" is misleading. Apparently you didn't read through the entire article. Sony didn't kill the goat. The headless goat was already dead and bought from a local butcher. Anyway, it's still bizarre. I'm sure a few heads will roll over this one (not counting the goat...heh).
