    Default PS2 slim slow-loading (LOCK, please)

    A friend has a PS2 slim, and is suddenly experiencing noticably slow load times.

    I suggested they clean the laser (they did, no change) and clean out any dust (not sure if they did or not).

    They're still having the slow loading problem. This is happening with all games, not just one in particular. No DRE's.

    Any suggestions?

    Update: Now they've changed their tune; the laser is obviously going.
