    Default Zelda LttP

In the third dungeon of the Dark World (it's in the forest) there is a room I can't figure out how to get to. I've looked for about a half hour but haven't had any success.

It's not important for me to beat the game (I've beaten it a few times) but I'm curious.

I can't remember. It's been a long time since I've played LttP. Did you try hitting the star switch in another room and then checking that room?

The closest star to that locked door is in the next room (look at the picture) but I can't find any way to get to that part of the room. I've looked overhead for holes in the ground, nothing.

I've tried hitting stars in earlier part of the dungeon but they have no effect on that part.

I checked a few faqs but none of them mentioned that room.

Found it. The enterance was a hole in the ground, nearly on the other side of the map... I guess that's what I get for not checking literally everywhere. :P

    LttP = Da best.

I remeber some places in that game making you do that kind of crap, like travelling to EBF Hyrule just to get to one screen you couldn't reach before.

    Damn, I love that game.

Probably the best game that will be made. But, I'm biased, I don't like playing 3d games as much as 2d.

Link's Awakening was a great Gameboy game and I still play it to this day But, heck, not near as good as LttP. I do like the fact that both are very similar but the overall gameplay on the SNES was just so much better IMO.

Don't get me wrong though, these are both two of my favorite Zeldas of all time with Ocarina and Twilight right there with 'em

I agree. Link's Awakening has always been my favorite Zelda.

LttP is indeed awesome though. I think it's a testament to the quality of the Zelda series that (with a few exceptions) I can honestly say that I've enjoyed every game that has been released immensely.

It's going to be a sad day when the battery dies on my cartridge.

It's been happening slowly to my other snes games.

Uh, so why not replace the battery?

The battery dying doesn't hurt the game, it's the rom being erased. If the rom erases itself then you will lose everything...obviously. I assume SNES games do the same as NES in which they will eventually erase themselves in 30+ years????

A dead battery only kills your saves. It doesn't affect the ROM in any way whatsoever. I don't have any idea what you're talking about with the NES thing. It sounds ridiculous.

Anyway, for those of you who really love LttP, what version would you recommend, the SNES, or GBA? I've never played the game, but I really want to because I've been a fan of the Zelda series since OoT.

I think that the story for Link's Awakening is superior to LttP. I also think that some of the dungeons are more well designed. LttP is longer and has more stuff to find, though, so I love them both. I can't get into a 3D Zelda game like I can with these two (and the original, of course).

Not to mention her breast plates is obviously hiding something nice

You just lose the saves when the batteries die... Still, if you can't save there isn't much point in playing considering the length of the game.

I would change the battery but do they even sell those types of screwdrivers? What batteries do they take?

The battery is a standard CR2032 button battery you can get at just about any department or drug store, it just has tabs attached to hold it into place. You can remove the old battery and put a plastic holder in for the new battery, making any later replacements a snap. The screwdriver is called a game bit (can't remember the real name but that's what most people call it), which you can get from eBay or many electronics dealers. I got mine from MCM Electronics.

Be warned, if you want to do it right you'll need to know how to solder, hopefully without making batteries explode.

Sounds like a pain in the ass.

Got any detailed step-by-step sites for it?
