Default How much should these 2 cabs go for?

By brother-in-law has a cousin that is selling a Ghost n' Goblins for $300 and a Donkey Kong for $750. I was told they bother were in good condition. I was wondering if you guys thought that those were good prices? I was considering getting one.

the non-collectors idea of "good condition" is entirely different than the collectors idea of "good condition". check them out for yourself until you decide on what they are worth. ive heard too many horror stories starting this way.

Donkey Kong is pretty high. I see Donkey Kongs in my area all the time for $550 or less.

Ghost n' Goblins on the other hand is unique hardware and I can't remember seeing one in my area ever. Doesn't mean they're necessarily rare or go for a lot. But if it's in good shape, $300 is pretty fair for most solid cabs. I'd think that wouldn't be a bad buy.

Keep in mind though that the arcades can take up a LOT of space, and they can be addictive to collect for as cool "opportunity" buys. Make sure they're games you really want to keep around before making the plunge.

Also depends on how fast he wants to sell them. Selling them locally avoids a lot of fees (and hassle) that eBay will incur. I'd say he should start Donkey Kong at $650 locally and move it down $50 a month and at $500 if still no bites then I'd go to eBay and deal with that nightmare.

On the other cab, I don't know anything about, but if I saw that listed for $300 in the paper I'd at least give you a call to hear about it and if you were close I'd swing by, but that seems a little over priced as well. IMO at $300 you'd have to get a guy who just happened to see the ad and loved it when he was younger.
