    Default Biggest. Rip-off. Ever!

With all of our travels around searching for rarities and bargains, I'm sure we've also come across those items that are just completely over-priced, more than once.

So list the things that you've thought were complete rip-offs - even the ones you succumbed to and bought anyway!

US NTSC N64 carts, loose - for sale at $25 AUS! All of which were common carts anyway, which I either already had or didn't want.

Top Gear 3000 for SNES - bought it privately (loose cart) for $20 AUS a few months ago. Saw it in a store today for $12 (same condition!) - d'oh!

Assorted loose Game Gear games for $25 AUS - didn't touch any of 'em!

Enduro, F-14 TomCat and River Raid 2 for Atari 2600 at $9 AUS each! Ended up buying Enduro though....

Assorted Dreamcast games (damaged cases, no manuals or covers and highly scratched discs) for $25 AUS

Atari Lynx console (loose) for $60 AUS! My Lynx in the same condition cost me $40 AUS over five years ago!

Common SNES games (DKC 2, Mario World etc..) - loose carts - $25 AUS

    That's enough for now!

I've come across a ton of stuff a flea markets that was WAY overpriced. I've found that to be fairly common though, most flea vendors think all their crap is PURE GOLD.

But I have on occassion seen it happen at thrift stores who normally sell stuff really cheap.

    most recently:

an Atari 2600 4 switch woodgrain with powersupply, 2 joy sticks, one of those plastic system storage units and 10 REAL common games.

    $100.00

maybe the little sign that said "Atari Collectors Item" was supposed to make me feel better about the price.

    hell, that's more than ebay.

Mega Man 5, loose with writing on the cart- $55

This is the same flea market guy that sold me Miricle for 3 dollars. Go fig.

Gamestop takes most NES games for less then a dollar and sells them for alot more then that.

I.E. They give $2 for Final Fantasy 1, then sell it for $30

Rhino games in Florida usually has good pirces, but sometimes I wonder. Hello Kitty Cube Frenzy for $34, Gundam Battle Assult 2 (used) $39.99 , Toys R Us still has loads of this game now marked down to 14.99 new.
I am in fact the guy that made the Raisins prototype worth thousands less by dumping it. "D'oh!!"

Microplay is easily the King of rip offs. And yet I do still buy the occasional item there. All prices in Canadian dollars:

At one point they wanted $150 for FF III. They've dropped it to $100 and now it's at $90 but come on ...

The biggest suprise was NCAA Football 2003. They wanted $150 for a *used* copy of the game. Used!!! Okay, sure. They don't release it much up here. Let's see. If I *want* a football game I can buy a new Madden and another game brand new, or I can buy just this used....

For the record: N64 games have still to come down in price anywhere. I consider that to be the biggest rip off conspiracy going...

    Biggest rip off?

Beautiful mistress with only one milk jug!

Killing is wrong. And bad. There should be a new, stronger word for killing. Like badwrong, or badong. Yes, killing is badong. From this moment,
I will stand for the opposite of killing: gnodab.
