Default Dreamcast Agetec Arcade Stick MOD?

I have one of these and I really like it outside of the sloppy Joystick, is there a hard spring or a larger cam?

I've already swap'd out the cheap switches in the buttons for some nice mini-micro style.

    Web sites? eaby?

Sloppy joystick? What do you mean? Is the throw too wide for you or something?

Japanese sticks tend to have a looser feel to them than American bat style sticks. Is that what you're talking about?

Yes, that's it, I'd like to tighten up the stick throw a bit and the spring a bit.

Rzzz.... in my experience, that's actually a little harder to do than I thought. I've never gotten a good result from increasing the actuator area with tape or wedging something between the actuator and the switches; usually the corners get thrown off or one direction sticks.

If no one here has a better idea, I'd reccomend replacing the joystick with a Sanwa JLF or something. What kind of stick do the Agetecs have already?

Uses some sort of cheap custom Sanwa, the housing is a little differn't, so I don't think you could swap out the whole thing, just a spring/cam kit? maybe it can be swap'd through another brand?

Some Hardcore Dreamcaster will come along and know or point me to a link, I hope

The stock stick in the Agetec is balls. You can't play any games (competitively) that require sensivity.

A sanwa stick mod is very easy. You will need to gouge out the mounting though as the sanwa stick will not fit as-is. That's the hardest part of the mod.

A buttons mod isn't hard either, but you will need a dremel as Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons are just a tad too fat.

    Obvious Link
There's a few links w/ How To's at Shmups (in the hardware section) but the forums are down at the moment.

    EDIT:
Tychom's Guide -- got this from Shmups some time ago. Good guide, although he uses a Seimitsu stick (slightly tighter than Sanwa).

    Thanks for the links GaijinPunch,

I don't think I'll go that far, I'll just tear out the guts and throw'em in HORI Tekken 5 arcade stick. lol alot cheaper that way I think.
