Question Sega Saturn pad for ps2

Hey everyone. New here & I already have a question...

I read a review awhile back on shoryuken.com about a pad Sega released in Japan based on the Saturn's pad for the ps2. From the pic it pretty much looked identical in style. Anyone have any idea on where I could locate one of these online? Play-Asia's out of stock & pretty much everywhere else I've looked I've came up empty. Even eBay. I really would love to get a hold of one of these to play 2d fighters on my ps2. I have quite a few & while I don't mind the Dualshock2 as much as other, more hardcore 2d fighting game fans do I'd love to play it with the much more comfortable Saturn pad.

ps. Not a fan of converters. I thought about it but I would prefer the actual pad just for collection reasons.

$100?!! Wow, okay nevermind. I didn't realize they were that rare & expensive. I guess it's not really all that expensive but still a little rich for my blood considering it's just a controller. I could get Street Fighter Alpha 3 for my Saturn with that money. Oh well...

It seems that once they sold out, that was it. It's unfortunate because they are really great controllers. I believe they were about $50 from Play Asia when they were available, so they were always expensive.

You might be better served finding a PSX adapter that allows for the use of Saturn pads. You wont get the select button though.

Looks like my only option. I've never used an adapter before. Do they have any kind of lag? Might be a stupid question but oh well.

I believe they were made to be used with the Darkstalkers PSP port. I think they were purple. I saw a few on ebay that were in the $30 range about a year ago. I didn't jump on them b/c I was (and still am) looking for Saturn USB controllers. I bought one from Lik-Sang for about $47 shipped. When I went to buy a few more they were sold out. Totally sucks. Best 2D controller ever, better than the real Saturn controllers and worth evry penny.

There's a couple of different versions for PS2 and I think there were four different USB versions for PC.
I wouldn't be surprised if they fetched $100 NIB. They were at least $40 upon release.

If you can't find one, you could always seek out the awesome NeoGeo pad for PS2. It uses the same thumb-stick as the NGPC.

I had a couple for sale at my booths during the conventions this summer. Had a black one and a white one. THey didn't get much attention, but in both cases the buyer completely flipped out when they were purchased . They were $45 a piece. I havn't had any luck getting more in since though.

I think I'll just make due with the Dualshock2s. I really only wanted one if I could find them under $50. I didn't know they were that rare. No wonder I lucked out finding one.

    Anyways, thanks guys.

Kind of interesting 10-year bump, but these controllers on average go for close to $200, if not more, these days.

Huh. I have the black one. That second model Saturn controller is likely my favorite controller, at least for arcade-style stuff. I can play fighters better with that than a joystick. The PS2 one was something I picked up right when it came out.
